Richard Correll appeared previously as Timmy's friend Steve Johnson in "The Greyhound" 07x32. Correll played Richard Rickover in Leave It to Beaver (1957-1964).
 
One of the few episodes in which Timmy wears something other than his checked shirt. He appears at Colonel Compton's office wearing a plaid shirt and later in a neat little jacket and bow tie.

Timmy and the Martians

Western man has always been intrigued with the possibility of life existing on other planets. Mars was the likeliest planet because it was believed its atmosphere most closely resembled Earth's. This episode uses popular sci fi elements and appeared at a time when America was engaged in the space race.
