Track of the Jaguar (2) - Recap

A cougar appears on the scene and battles the jaguar. The jag runs away. Jason is wounded. Lassie hurries off, finds Jed and Mr. Denning and brings them back to Jason. Lassie prevents Mr. Denning from shooting the cougar. Jed takes Lassie to hunt the jaguar. Mr. Denning takes the wounded Jason home.

At the ranch, Billy tends Jason in the horse barn. Mr. Denning appears and says the vet will bring the dog back to health. Mr. Denning tells Billy to join Jed and Lassie on the hunt for the jaguar. Billy prepares himself and promises Jason he will find the jaguar. Billy rides away. Lady's colt Shooting Star sees Billy riding away and frees himself from the corral. He gallops after Billy but is detoured by a skunk.

Billy meets Jed and Lassie. The colt runs pell mell through the scrub. A rattlesnake threatens him.

The jaguar is on a rocky crag watching the men. Lassie is certain the jaguar is nearby and searches the rocky outcroppings intently but the jaguar eludes her.

The men dismount and hunt the jaguar on foot, climbing high among the rocks. From a distance, they see Shooting Star and hurry away to retrieve him. The jaguar has seen the colt too and begins stalking him.

Lassie spots the jaguar approaching the colt. She leaves the men and hurries to the colt's side. She barks a warning at the jaguar. The men appear and kill the jaguar before it has a chance to kill the colt. Billy recovers the colt.

At the ranch, Jason is up and about though bandaged. Mr. Denning and Jed are glad the terror is over. Mr. Denning decides he will wait a year before expanding his operation.
