Season 1 (The First Year)

In a unique twist of the Law & Order franchise, Law & Order: Trial by Jury solely takes place in the District Attorney's Office, following A.D.A.s Tracy Kibre and Kelly Gaffney (Bebe Neuwirth and Amy Carlson) prosecute cases under D.A. Arthur Branch (Fred Dalton Thompson). To help the A.D.A.s with their cases are the D.A. Investigators Hector Salazar, Lennis Briscoe, and later, Detective Chris Ravell (Kirk Acevedo, Jerry Orbach and Scott Cohen).

Notable trials include those against a famous Broadway director, a case against a suspect accused of shooting an officer forty-one times, the trial against the man accused of shooting Detective Ed Green (in a crossover with Law & Order), the case against the attack of A.D.A. Casey Novak and a twisted wealthy young man (in a crossover with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) among others.

Notable guest stars include Law & Order cast members Sam Waterston, Dennis Farina, Jesse L. Martin and S. Epatha Merkerson, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit cast members Richard Belzer, Christopher Meloni, Mariska Hargitay and Tamara Tunie, Law & Order regulars Carolyn McCormick and Leslie Hendrix, former Law & Order star Carey Lowell, future Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Anabella Sciorra, Candice Bergen, Alfred Molina, Angela Lansbury, Bradley Cooper, Peter Coyote, Lorraine Bracco, Adam LaVorgna, Larry King and Rita Moreno.
