Should return to the roots of the original showRating: 1 likes, 0 dislikes
The strength of the original Law & Order (IMHO) was always that it explored issues of policing & legal matter -- like police survelliance, search & seizure; the ethics of certain tactics, etc.

What I'd like from this UK version is to learn more about how the British justice system and it's police force work, than simply see redos of American episodes (which so far the first 3 episodes seem to be).

For example, I've been really amazed at how every episode the 'coppers' manage to find "CCTV" footage of everything going on.
It's like the cops simply take it for granted that every bit of London is under survelliance. I'd heard London was becoming a bit of a police state after the bus bombings, but I didn't know it had gotten to this level.

I wish this version of Law & Order would keep to the roots of the original series and explore some of these kinds of police & legal procedures & laws. I'd be much more interested in seeing a debate on the monitoring of citizens than seeing the more specific crime +prosecution episodes.
