Det. Lennie Briscoe [Episodes 53-325], played by Jerry Orbach
Detective Lennie Briscoe is a witty detective that usually plays by the books. He entered the 27th Precinct as the temporary partner of Detctive Mike Logan until it became permanent. Throughout his 11 season tenure, he was partnered with Logan (3-5), Detective Rey Curtis (6-9) and Detective Ed Green (10-14, who left in the 18th Season). He left the 27th to retire at the end of the 14th Season. He later went to the DA's Office as an investigator (See Law & Order: Trial by Jury). Jerry Orbach, the actor playing Lennie Briscoe, passed away during filming of Law & Order: Trial by Jury, taking the character with him. |
