Remade as the Law & Order: UK episode "The Wrong Man" (S05E01 - July 10th, 2011)

This episode was not the original pilot episode; rather, it was the series' sixth episode, "Everybody's Favorite Bagman", that was originally shot as the series pilot back in 1988.

We discover that Greevey and Cragen were partners before Cragen's promotion; Cragen is a recovering alcoholic; and Stone's father had a drinking problem.

Both Bruce McCarty and Daniel Benzali will later star together in the CBS drama, "The Agency".

Medical Examiner: It's possible that death rays from Mars killed her. But I don't think so.

Dr. Edward Auster: You solve every case you work on?
Detective Mike Logan: We can tell a felony from a traffic ticket.
Dr. Edward Auster: Look, a patient walks in with a headache. She could have a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a berry aneurysm, a retro-orbital tumor...or does she just have a headache? Do you give her an aspirin? Or do you saw open her skull?
Sgt. Max Greevey: You make this speech at funerals?

Sgt. Max Greevey: Look! Someone's lying! Whether it's Gunja Din or Doctor God, we don't know.

Dr. Edward Auster: When you practice medicine, Mr. Stone, sometimes the patient dies.
E.A.D.A. Ben Stone: And when you're a lawyer, Dr. Auster, some of the people you prosecute are convicted.
