When a best-selling author (guest star Ruthie Henshall) is gunned down on the street along with another victim who is killed, Detectives Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) ignore the writer's contention that the gunman was an obsessed fan and concentrate on a possible love triangle that includes an FBI agent (guest star and Golden Globe winner Tom Berenger, "Platoon") and his wife (Linda Emond). However, just as Assistant District Attorneys McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Carmichael (Angie Harmon) begin their case, new evidence suggests a revolving door of most likely suspects. Steven Hill and S. Epatha Merkerson also star.
