Season 1 (The First Year)

The first season of Dick Wolf's "Law & Order" introduced us to the characters of this thrilling drama. First, we have Sgt. Max Greevey (George Dzundza) and Detective Mike Logan (Chris Noth) of the 27th Precinct who work under Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek). Then we meet the attorneys that help out the detectives. E.A.D.A. Ben Stone (Michael Moriarty) and A.D.A. Paul Robinette (Richard Brooks) prosecute during trials while they work under D.A. Adam Schiff (Steven Hill).

Cases for the first season include the investigation of a doctor who is presumed drunk while trying to save a life, a white woman who shoots two black men in a subway claims self defense, and even Captain Cragen is under investigation of helping his former mentor launder drug money. The 22 episodes of the first season, which is dubbed "The First Year", started the long lasting tradition of "Law & Order" in your TV sets, as it now enters its 17th season. Notable guest stars include Ron Rifkin, Lorraine Toussaint, Cynthia Nixon, John Fiore, William H. Macy, Paul Guilfoyle, Courtney B. Vance, and others.
