A woman practices her food ordering skills in French on the plane. Her
friend Helen told her that if she didn't order in French, the wait staff
would spit in her food. Her husband declares Helen a moron. A young lady
on the plane freaks out, claiming her seat mate tried to rape her. Since
they were sitting side-by-side fully clothed and inanimate before the
beating began, this is highly unlikely.
Cragen tells Liv and Elliiot that the man never touched the young lady.
She was sleeping, he reached over her to pull the shade down, and she
flipped. Liv thinks it sounds like PTSD, and she's right. The girl was
raped two nights previous, stateside (NYC). Apparently the perp flew her
over in his private jet, raped her and sent her home commercial. She's
back in Paris.
She only speaks French, so has a translator. They are having a
teleconference with Cragen, Benson and Stabler. She tells them that they
flew to New York two days ago for a modeling job. The translator says
that there was no job, "we" were supposed to be "his" birthday present.
The billionaire, the one who owns the jet. Jordan. It was only supposed
to be a massage, but they made her take off all her clothes. He climbed
on top of her. It hurt. She started bleeding, it didn't stop. The
doctors came.
Liv tells her they will arrest this man, but Dominique will have to
return to New York to testify. She says no, and runs from the room. A
French policeman gets on camera and tells them that she obviously
chooses not to pursue the matter. Elliot says that when a billionaire is
flying underage girls around to rape them, the police will be pursuing
the matter.
Fin summarizes the victim refusing to return and press charges as "a
winner". Liv has the alleged perpetrators name: Jordan Hayes. He's a
billionaire defense contractor and a personal friend of just about
everybody who's got the power to take away their pension. Cragen has
ordered them to step lightly. Dominique is only 12. She says an older
girl flew out with her, and by older, she means 15. Elliot grabs Munch's
paper when he sees that everybody was at Hayes' 50th birthday party the
other night. Cragen informs the team they won't be speaking to any of
the guests without concrete evidence. He already has arranged to speak
with one "PP".
Munch announces that Jordan Hayes giving $500k to the Police Benevolence
Fund doesn't give him a pass. Fin wonders how come he never heard of the
man til now. Munch tells him it's because he doesn't keep tabs on the
military industrial complex, like he does. Jordan made his billions
selling weapons of mass destruction, and US taxpayers footed the bill.
Elliot wants more pictures, but the man appears to be camera-shy.
Pictures are few and far between. Cragen wants a picture of his accuser.
Munch pulls up Dominque Moreau, a freeze frame from the teleconference,
but he has yet to find any photos of the girl who came over with her.
Cragen starts going over what they have so far. Dominique claims she was
Jordan's 'gift'. Who from? Liv wants to pull in the birthday boy and ask
him, but Cragen refuses. Not yet. Fin is peeved. If this man was blue
collar - Cragen interrupts to say that he isn't. So before they proceed,
they need to make sure Dominique's story checks out.
Airport security verifies Domique's story. Since Mr. Hayes is a VIP,
security goes out there, gets on the plane, checks the manifest and
passports, etc. He scans their fingerprints and takes photos. Elliot
says they need copies of the photos. Liv asks if Hayes flies in a lot of
international guests, and he nods, saying "royalty, dignitaries,
celebrities, models." Elliot asks about girls being underage, and the
guard says that he does like them young, but they are usually the right
side of being legal. There were only supposed to be two girls on the
plane, but there are three pictures. Who is the third? Her name is
Dahlia Jessup, she's a frequent flyer with Hayes and his "on again, off
again" girlfriend. They look at him, and he mutters that he reads Page
Six. Liv asks if Dahlia flew back with him yesterday, and the answer is
no. Liv asks if the plane is back from Paris yet, and he tells her they
have good timing. The wheels will be down in 20.
Liv and Elliot try to question the flight staff, all females. One of
them tries to talk to them, but the pilot says the terms of their
employment include a confidentiality agreement. There goes their stealth
mission, since the pilot's first call will likely be to Hayes. Liv wants
to talk to Dahlia.
Dahlia says she'd just started her own clothing line. She was in Paris
for Fashion Week, and 'Jordie' loaned her his jet. She says the girls
weren't there for her business. Jordie has a friend who runs a modeling
agency, so the girls hitched a ride. How did the girls wind up at
Jordan's birthday party? She says the girls' job fell through, she felt
sorry for them, and let them tag along to the party. Then she ditched
them the second she got there. Elliot asks when she saw them next. She
walked in on Nicole throwing up in the powder room. Girl can't hold her
liquor. Liv says she's only 15, and Dahlia counters that she's French.
After that she stuck both of them in a bedroom, turned on the TV and
told them to chill.
They start playing hardball. Elliot tells her they talked to the doctor.
Dahlia gives them his first name when she confirms, so they have that to
work with. Liv says they have Hayes' DNA. Dahlia clams up and walks out.
Munch confronts the doctor. He claims he hasn't done anything, and Munch
says that's exactly it. Is he not aware of the mandatory reporting
statutes? All he does is routine pap smears and hysterectomies. He has
no idea what they're talking about, a child being raped. Munch refreshes
his memory, Jordan's birthday party. Ari's wife sits on a board. She was
invited, and dragged him along. He didn't see any child. Fin tells him
he was the only Ari on the guest list, and he retorts that he's
certainly not the only one registered with the AMA. He's right; there
are 52 of them in the phone book. Cragen asks if any of them are on
Hayes' speed dial. He tells Fin to call Hardwick and get a subpoena.
They have enough information to pull Hayes' phone records.
Liv reads off Jordan's stats. Scholarship to MIT, started his own
defense company when he was 29, JCH Worldwide. Records clean, no
arrests. Raging hypochondriac. Won't travel anywhere without his own
private doctor. Ari Nathan. He doesn't have an office, he's a concierge
doctor. Only makes house calls to the filthy rich. Cragen orders him
picked up. As they head for the open elevator, Hayes disembarks. Elliot
asks if he's there to turn himself in, and his attorney announces he's
there to file a complaint against Dominique Moreau. Hayes says she raped
him.
Stanitch, Hayes' attorney, asks why they're meeting with Liv and Elliot
instead of Cragen. Elliot tells him that Cragen is in a meeting with the
police commissioner and will be with them shortly. They are more than
welcome to wait. Liv mock sympathetically tells Hayes she knows this is
hard. Would he be more comfortable with a male detective? He snarls at
her that he just wants to get this over with. As Elliot drops off a box
of tissues in front of Jordan, he tells him he's going to need to share
every detail of his rape. Stanitch reacts in anger. Do they treat female
rape victims this way? Cragen arrives, and Stanitch asks if they can
discuss this in his office. He waves them in. Liv and Elliot follow.
Hayes tells Cragen he appreciates his courtesy. He hears Cragen was just
with Evan. Stanitch asks that the questioning take place under a waiver
of immunity. They refuse his request, as it would not be necessary
(unless he plans on incriminating himself.) Liv asks if he sought
medical attention after the attack. Hayes was checked for STD's. Elliot
says they will need the results, and Stanitch refuses. Privileged. Hayes
says they will get whatever they need.
Cragen asks what happens, and Hayes talks. His party was in full swing.
A friend told him that she wanted to give him a special present. Told
him to wait in his massage room. While he was waiting, he fell asleep.
He thought he must have been dreaming. He was aroused. He felt himself
being manually manipulated. Then he remembered it was his present, and
he started to enjoy himself. But then it got rough, and that's when he
opened his eyes. Cragen asks what he saw. A woman he'd never seen
before. Liv angrily interrupts, because Dominique Moreau, at the age of
12, is hardly a woman. He says it was dark, and he just wanted her off
him. He tried to stop her. Elliot is surprised he couldn't stop a 12
year-old, but Hayes says she threatened him. If he didn't let her
continue, she was going to scream rape. Liv says Hayes has 40 years and
100 pounds on the girl, but there was nothing he could do? Cragen says
her name in a warning tone.
Hayes continues. The party was going on right outside the door. He knew
how this would look. They were both naked. What could he do? Liv suggest
not having sex with a child. When one of the gentlemen states Jordan is
the victim here, Liv walks out. She finds Munch and Fin eavesdropping,
and buying the story about as much as she is. She advises they go back
to sensitivity training, and they are properly abashed. When they walk
away, she picks up the equipment and commences listening in on the
questioning.
Hayes says this situation is a nightmare, he's hardly slept at all.
Elliot thinks he may need a massage. Did his friend ever make good on
that present? He hasn't been able to let anyone touch him since "the
incident". Elliot says they need the name of the woman who stiffed him.
Stanitch says if there is one more unprofessional comment, he's pulling
Hayes out of the meeting. Elliot asks again, and Stanitch says he
thought Cragen was conducting the interview. Cragen says he is - and
they're going to need that name. Hayes gives it. Dahlia Jessup.
Elliot asks how Dominique threatened him, what with her not speaking
English and all. He quotes her in perfect French. Elliot asks how they
explain her injuries, and the other attorney says he doesn't have to.
He's the victim. Elliot points out that the injuries were severe enough
to call Jordan's own personal physician. Stanitch says that if his
detectives can't take this seriously, maybe the commissioner can find
detectives who can. As they are leaving, Hayes tells Elliot that if it
hadn't happened to him, he wouldn't believe it either.
Stanitch tells Cragen he expects his client to be afforded the courtesy
afforded all rape victims. He then snaps at Liv to make sure his name
isn't leaked to the media. Cragen says it's the usual he said, she said.
The only person he's prepared to arrest is Hayes' doctor.
Ari's assistant busily stonewalls Fin and Munch. She goes on for so long
that Munch offers to charge her with obstruction. She gives them the
address he's at and asks them to promise not to bother the patient.
Outside, Munch asks Fin if he recognizes the address. It belongs to
Dahlia Jessup, the woman who brought the victim to his party.
When the detectives arrive at Dahlia's, she asks how they got in. Her
assistant let them in. She's fired. Dahlia has suffered an overdose, a
mixture of pills and booze. The pills were all prescribed by Dr. Nathan.
Munch calls in the overdose. Nathan says that's not necessary. Dahlia is
stable, and he will stay with her. Munch begs to differ. Ari is under
arrest for failure to comply with mandatory reporting laws.
Nathan says there were no signs that Dominique was raped. Fin tells him
that Jordan already admitted that the two of them had sex. He won't
admit to anything, and he won't discuss treating her because that's
privileged. Munch says she was bleeding internally. Ari says the correct
medical term is menses. She started her period. He gave her ibuprofin
and a tampon. Fin asks if that's all he did after she told him she was
raped? Ari said she didn't tell him anything, as they had communication
issues. He doesn't speak French. Elliot and Liv are listening, and she
says he is fluent in bull. Elliot says Ari won't be budging off that
story. Changing the subject, Liv wonders about Dahlia. Guilty
conscience? Elliot thinks she's just a party girl, but Liv finds the
timing suspicious. If Hayes is at least telling the truth about Dahlia
providing him with Dominique, she's guilty of human trafficking.
Dahlia tells Liv she has nothing to say to her, and asks them to go
away. They tell her Jordan's side of things, and she sounds surprised to
hear it. She says she went to the massage room. She was supposed to be
the present. But the door was locked, and she couldn't get in. As they
are talking, Hayes arrives. She promises she didn't say anything, but
Hayes says he has nothing to hide, and she should cooperate with them
fully. They can ask her anything they like.
They report to Cragen back at the precinct. They almost had her when
Jordan walked in. Elliot swears he's having them followed. Cragen says
they have bigger problems. Paris is calling. The French policeman
informs them that Dominique is still refusing to testify, but they have
a witness. It's Nicole. She tells a story that backs Hayes, that
Dominique went in the room because Jordan is a billionaire, and she was
going to get rich. Liv thinks they could extradite Dominique, but
Elliot points out that they didn't give up Roman Polanski, so yeah. This
ain't happening.
There's no way this is a one-time birthday wish. He has to have a
pattern. If that's the case, then the help should know. Jordan knocks on
the passenger window and greets them. They must be freezing. They've
been sitting out here for half an hour. Would they like to come inside?
It's a beautiful place, with lots of marble female nudes. He's very
easygoing until Liv turns on the TV, asking what he watches when he's
having a rubdown. It's a closed-circuit TV. He explains it away by
telling them that people view him as a walking lottery ticket. He
records all interactions in case anybody wants to attempt extortion. He
should have his attack on tape then, yes? No. He thought he was getting
a massage from a friend, so didn't turn it on. His appointment arrives,
and he shows them out.
Cragen tells the ADA he needs a warrant for those tapes. She asks which
tapes, since all they saw was a closed-circuit television. Hayes told
them he recorded all his massages, therefore. That's proof that the tape
exists. She says he can't use a warrant for a fishing expedition, but
Cragen tells her they know for a fact that he had sex with a 12
year-old. That is undisputed. She retorts that he says it wasn't taped,
and Cragen digs in his heels. He says the pervert is lying. Fin
interjects that the pervert is also good with his bribes, because Nicole
is the new face of a big cosmetics company. Cragen fills the ADA in on
exactly who Nicole is, and she finds the timing interesting. Cragen asks
where he got the information, and Fin aims them at Munch. Munch is
currently shocked at how easy it is for a much older gentleman to friend
a tween anywhere in the world. Munch is passing himself off as Gigi
Alvarez. She's encouraging Dominique to blog about her experience with
Jordan.
Dominique tells Munch/Gigi that she can't even make herself get up in
the morning, never mind leave home. She's a bit of a wreck. And even if
they can get her to press charges, they'll need more than her testimony
to put him away. Cragen declares that now more than ever, they need the
search warrant so they have an actual video of the crime. The ADA agrees
to go for it.
The judge is very kind to her until he sees the name on the warrant. He
asks for probable cause and declares it not enough. As they leave, Fin
says that Hayes probably financed the Judge's last election campaign.
The judge calls him on it, but the ADA hurries him out of the courtroom.
Liv is sure there's gotta be another way to get at Hayes. Cragen tells
her it's late, and he thinks no young girls are in danger tonight. Liv
asks how he knows, and he tells her he has a patrol car stationed
outside Hayes' place. Liv needs to go home and get some rest. She
agrees, but is interrupted by a young girl who was given the link to
Dominique Moreau's blog. She read about the rape. And she's been in that
massage room.
Fin arrives and Liv is happy to see him. New case? Eight, actually.
Dominique's blog went viral. All the detectives are busy taking
statements. A young lady tells Liv that the woman who hooked her up with
Hayes never told her her name. Liv shows her pictures, and she ID's
Dahlia. Dahlia asked her if she wanted to make some fast cash. Another
young girl says that she was told that all she would have to do is give
Hayes a massage. One girl was still a virgin when it happened to her.
And she didn't report it because she "didn't exactly say no." Another
one says she was getting dressed in the hall when the house manager gave
her her $500 and asked her if she had any friends "as cute as me." She
gave him her friend Tina's contact info - is she going to be in trouble?
Elliot tells her no, she's 14. She holds up Jordan's picture, states his
name and says she was paid to have sex with him.
Judge Ramsey was only too happy to sign a search warrant. Hayes remains
cocky, sure he'll be out within the hour. Liv tells him that in her
experience, friends of pedophiles can't drop them fast enough. Elliot
wants to know how long he thinks his staff will hold out, when they're
facing jail time if they don't squeal on him? He smiles and says he has
a massage appointment at 4:00, and he doesn't intend to miss it.
Elliot brings a new cellmate in for Hayes. He wants to know why he's
still here. Elliot suggest he ask his attorneys. They're the ones having
him held until they figure out his VIP treatment. Fin walks in Giles,
Hayes' houseman. Hayes calls out to him that it's okay; this too shall
pass. Fin calls back that he doubts it. Fin tells Giles he's a pimp. He
claims he's a butler, but they explain the concept of "criminal
facilitation" to him. Meanwhile, Liv explains to Dahlia just how deep
she's in it. Dahlia continues to insist she's not his girlfriend, and
Liv says yes. That's because she aged out. Dahlia calls Liv names and
tells her that Hayes treats her like a princess. Dahlia moved in with
him when she was 17. She thinks because he never forced her, and they
were in love, it's not statutory rape. She thinks she's the one he can't
let go, not like all those little "one-offs". Dahlia blows her off, but
Liv recognizes her words. She's heard them so many times before, from
anybody ever explaining their involvement with a predator.
They almost didn't find the incriminating tapes. Searched the whole
place twice before they found his panic room. Hayes remains calm, and
sure he'll get out of this. Cragen has Morales turn off the tape, too
many people in the vicinity. Elliot noticed that Hayes was
under-endowed, and asks him if that's why he likes little girls, they
have nothing to compare it to. He flares at Elliot, telling him to come
say it to his face. Cragen tells him not to poke the animals, but Elliot
goes over anyway. Unfortunately for Hayes' cellmate, he comments on how
small Hayes is, and gets a beat down for his trouble. They can't get
the door open fast enough. Hayes claims he was defending himself,
because the man put his pinky finger in Hayes' face (when he was talking
about how small he is). The cellmate gets taken to the hospital.
Dahlia thinks she has an attorney, because Jordie told her he'd have his
represent her. Liv can't believe she fell for that. He's cutting a deal
right now. He's not looking out for anyone but himself.
Hayes calls out to Elliot, he needs assistance. He wants to use the
facilities. As he's being walked to the restroom, Liv walks in with
Dahlia who realizes Liv misled her. Cragen walks in with the feds. This
is their case now. The feds claim that only they can handle this much
child porn. They'll need the hard drives. Elliot wants to know who he
paid off, and Hayes just smirks. He leaves Dahlia behind. Stanitch says
he'll take care of her. Liv and Elliot tell her he's going to a federal
country club, while she's facing up to 80 years hard time. She asks
Jordan to tell them that's not true, and he tells her she'll be fine.
She rants at him until he takes her face in his hands, and she just
melts. He looks at Liv and Elliot so they can see what kind of power he
has. He leaves while Dahlia is begging him to come back, and screaming
that she loves him.
