Episode discussion for: 02x01 | Marked (Nov 07, 2009)

I had big concerns when I read Charisma was joining the team - something to do with this series never relying on famous names, and something to do with not really being a fan of hers. Avoided the last Dr Who season as I can't stand Ms AmIBovered lady and didn't want this to happen with LotS.

But it looks like my fears have been waylayed/belayed(?), by her (1) not being the main female badie (2) possibly being killed at the end and (3) the return of Cara, the uber sexy blonde leather clad Mord'Sith

Ep1 rocked.

hmm, I remember I watched the first few episodes of the show, but I got very bored by the show.
Has it gotten better, or should I not give it a second chance?

It may depend upon whether or not you've read the books. Personally I came to the series ignorant of anything Seekerish, a big Raimi (Xena+Hercules) fan and someone who'd quickly given up on Merlin as being blah-bla-blah - I was after fantasy series full of slow-mo sword fighting and leather clad women (preferably evil), and this is what I got.

Why did you give up on it cos I don't remember it stumbling during the early eps then finding its feet and becoming awesome ? (but my memory sux). Maybe it helped being shown on Saturdays when America show ABSOLUTELY nothing else, Saturdays being a non-day in USA tv-land.

I dunno, maybe the show just isn't for me.

Might give it a second chance if I get bored

No problemo - each to his/her own. If someone encouraged me to give Trauma, The Forgotten, Castle, Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case, Bored To Death, Merlin (ick), Private Practise, Ugly Betty, NCIS v2, Numb3rs, Flashpoint, Gossip Girl and Supernatural a second shot I'd tell them to vamoose.

haha

Supernatural is awesome if you ask me

edit; I've been trying to figure out how many episodes I've seen, but I came to the conclusion I'll have to rewatch everything if I intend to give it another chance.

Supernaturals 4+seasons of eps kinda scares me from even thinking about jumping onboard at this pint.

Infact the only current show that I think would be worth watching a shed load of back eps in order to "join the party" would have to be Dexter. Three seasons of 'king awesomeness have gone previous and the current one is shaping up to be just as .

I hadn't read that Charisma was on the show until she popped up in the rather seductive scene (I'll say no more!). Great to see Cara back though and makes for interesting dynamics.

Going back to the OP's first post - Doctor Who - same as you, never warmed to am I bovered but she was a little better than I expected her to be in the role - Billie Piper she ain't!
