The Leverage team, minus the imprisoned Nate, are infiltrating the courthouse to rescue Nate. Everything goes as planned… in Sophie's description of the plan to Nate as he talks to her in a Supermax prison, the Rockford Private Correctional Facility. At the apartment, Hardison, Parker, and Elliot watch on the security cameras, and insist that they're square and he should let them get him out of prison. Nate insists that he's going to serve his time and tells them not to break him out of the privately-owned prison. Sophie gives him a sausage with an earbud just in case. The team then cuts him off and Sophie leaves, saying she's using her real name now… and refuses to tell him what it is.
A mysterious Italian woman meets with Warden Adam Worth and demands all of the papers on Nate. When he balks, the woman threatens to burn the place down.
Nate gets a book from a trustee, Billy Epping, and thanks him for finding the rare volume. He then notices some men going after Billy and tries to inform the guard, who doesn't care. Nate then goes after the convict who is trying to kill Billy, knocks him out, and gets Billy out before the killer's partner can catch them. Once they're alone, Billy explains that he found the body of a dead con a month ago, and the man's gang thinks he's responsible. He insists that he was innocent and thrown into prison for moving beer across state lines. Nate isn't convinced and uses the hidden earbud to call Hardison. Hardison finally gives in and confirms that Billy's sentence was way too long. The warden was consulted on the sentencing. Nate apologizes to Billy and then stabs him in the side so he'll be locked up in the medical ward, then tells Hardison to assemble the team.
Soon, Hardison visits Warden Worth, pretending to be a prospective client from English. He secretly attaches a bug to Worth's computer and then secretly accesses it via PDA. In the prison infirmary, Nate assures Billy that he's in the safest place in prison. Eliot comes in as a M.D. to work as Billy's bodyguard, and the guards order Nate out. When Eliot tells him they need to talk, Nate fakes tooth pain and Eliot offers to take care of it in the dental office. Once they're alone, Eliot straps Nate down, supposedly to make it look convincing, and then wants to know if Nate is out of control. Nate insists he's not, and Eliot shows him the background files on Worth and the prison, noting that Worth is in politics but failed at a couple of Senate runs. Eliot tells Nate that Sophie told them her real name, but they're not allowed to tell Nate.
Sophie and Parker go to the courthouse and bump into the judge who sentenced Billy, and steal his wallet. They then break into the judge's office and Sophie accesses his bank accounts while Parker breaks into his safe. Hardison confirms that the judge and four others all got safe deposit boxes at the same time two years ago that they started sentencing prisons to Rockford. Rockford can't drop below 70% accuracy, and they came close two years ago. They figure Worth arranged for judges to start sending him non-violent offenders. Since their honest citizens, they won't put up a fight. Nate comes up with a plan.
Sophie approaches Worth and claims to be a representative for brokers wanting to have him elected as state senator. She takes him to a campaign headquarters and explains that she has photos of the current candidate with a mistress: Parker, her image Photoshopped onto the photos. Meanwhile, Eliot works with Billy to figure out where the murder occurred, in a camera-blind spot that only the guards would know about. They realize that the guards set Billy up, but Hardison warns that he can't access the cameras by remote. Nate and Eliot have to map out the cameras and sensors from inside, and then pass the information on to Parker and Hardison. They warn Nate that it isn't encouraging.
Sophie tells Worth that he needs to transfer $250,000 to set up his Senate run. He agrees, but insists that she prove what she's talking about by matching his transfer first. She agrees, and gets out of the office just as the occupant arrives.
Parker and the others go over the plans, and she suggests that they go through the furnace, which doesn't have any heat sensors. Nate warns that it will be too late. Sophie meets with the team and informs Nate that they'll be using the last of his savings to match Worth's funds. Nate comes up with a way to get out, but it isn't complete.
Worth confirms that Sophie has transferred the money and puts in his own funds. He then tells his head of security, Bellows, that they need to clean up their side routines. Bellows warns that Billy is a loose end, and Worth tells him to kill Billy. The security chief shuts off the cameras and sends his men in with knives to make it look like a prison hit.
Hardison returns to talk to Worth. The warden receives a call from the mystery woman, who tells him to check on Nate. Worth then steps out, and Hardison checks the security cameras. He tells Nate that the cameras are down, and Nate warns Eliot while turning on all the steam cookers in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Worth checks the tape of Nate's meeting with Sophie and recognizes her.
Parker is outside at Hardison's new van, and Nate calls to tell her that the escape is going ahead.
In the infirmary, Eliot takes out the guards and Nate arrives. Nate gets Billy out and Eliot splits up, while the security chief recovers consciousness and orders lockdown. Nate and Billy fail to get to the doors in time, but Nate reveals that he previously blocked the lock bolt with folded newspaper.
Worth calls his bank, unaware that Sophie has intercepted the call. He tries to withdraw his funds, and Sophie stalls and tells him he has to take out the money in person. Worth returns to his office and gets word that Billy and Nate are on the run. The warden apologizes to Hardison and says he'll have to meet with him later, and Hardison reminds him to take his dry-cleaning.
The steam cookers go off, blocking the heat and motion sensors. Nate tells Billy to go where they discussed, and then wears a reflective blanket to gets past the next heat sensor.
On the roof, a helicopter arrives. The security guards check it out, only to discover that it's a RC model, made to appear larger because of forced prospective. Parker, using the remote, sics the helicopter on them and chases them off the roof.
Worth arrives at the bank and is informed that someone tried to call out the account earlier today. He's happy to learn that not only is his money still there, but Sophie's as well, and he takes it all out.
The guards spot Nate and Billy getting into a van in the parking lot and go outside to surround it. However, when they open it up, they find Hardison and Parker having sex. The security chief orders them to clear out.
Worth returns and Detective Captain Bonnano arrives to show him that he has footage of Nate getting out of a car. Worth realizes that Nate is getting out of Worth's car, at Worth's parking lot. Bonnano wonders why Worth drove away from the prison in the middle of an escape attempt. The footage reveals that Nate then slipped away from the car, wearing Worth's dry-cleaned suit. Bonnano points out that Nate is nowhere close to Worth's size, meaning that Worth must have been working with Nate. When Worth points out that Billy escaped, Bonnano notes that Billy is still there. There was also a list of judges in Worth's car, and Bonnano points out that the $255,000 was Nate's money. He has Worth and Bellows arrested while the prisoners cheer.
Nate arrives back at the apartment and they prepare to get Nate out of the country. However, the mystery woman arrives with armed men. Nate takes her down to the bar and explains that he knew she was involved because someone tipped Worth off. He figures that she set Nate up so she could see how good he was. The Italian asks him to take down Damien Moreau, and gives him six months. If he fails, Nate will go back to prison and his team will be eliminated.
The team warns that Moreau is a major crime lord, a bank for international crime. They wonder who the woman is, and Nate explains that the woman is blackmailing them. They have to get back the leverage. Nate figures that they set up a series of jobs, but this time they will eventually lead to Moreau. The team is happy to be back in business. As the others leave, Sophie asks how Nate's drinking is going, and he explains that he's going to try being a drunk thief. He wonders if she's going to try and save him, and Sophie says he can save himself. As she goes, he calls her Dominique… and Caroline… and Raquel. He figures he'll get her real name someday.
