At an Italian restaurant, the staff closes for the night so mob boss Nicky Moscone can use the place to conduct business. Nicky shoots the man he's talking with, and then gives the gun to the owner, Ray Palermo. When Ray objects, Nicky reminds him that he loaned Ray the money to buy the restaurant, and that as a civilian he'll be in the clear. He assures Ray that he'll take care of his family if Ray goes to jail. Ray has no choice but to agree.
Five years later, Ray's wife Theresa comes to see Sophie and explains that Ray has 10 years left on his sentence. Nate comes in and is surprised to discover that Sophie has picked the client. Hardison explains what happened and that Theresa is a friend of Sophie's. Nate goes in and takes control of the meeting, and Theresa explains that she tried to persuade Ray to testify and go into witness protection, but he figured they'd get a cash cushion. Nicky never paid, and now he's planning a big wedding for his daughter, Maria. Nate assures Theresa that it isn't right, but warns that they can't prove Ray's innocence. Theresa admits that the police refused to investigate, and they ask her what she wants. She tells them that she wants what Nicky promised them so that they can get the restaurant back. Nate tells her that they'll discuss it and get back to her, and Theresa realizes he doesn't plan to pursue it further. She wonder where her young daughter is, and they realize that she's learning lockpicking from Parker.
Afterward, Nate notes that it's mob stuff and tells Sophie to write Theresa a check. Sophie say she might, and insists that Theresa wants revenge on the man who betrayed her husband. Hardison suggests they take the Mob out of it and pursue it as a breach of contract. Nate wonders why Sophie is so insistent on helping Theresa, and she says she can sympathize with someone who has to wait for 15 years. Finally, Nate agrees to go rob the mobster.
The team scouts out Moscone's manor and Hardison warns that they can't hack the security. He also points out that the FBI are parked nearby. Nate figures they'll have to do their surveillance by borrowing someone else's. Parker and Alec go to the FBI van and talk to the men inside, McSweeten and Taggert. They convince the agents that Parker is a trainee and get invited into the van. The young Taggert shows Parker around, and she gets close to him to steal his ID badge and duplicate it with a hidden scanner. Hardison is surprised to learn that they only planted a single bug. He secretly downloads their computer hookup, while Eliot makes a fake FBI badge and puts his photo on it. Parker "finds" Taggert's badge and gives it back, and he assumes that she's flirting with him.
Eliot goes to FBI headquarters posing as an agent and Hardison guides him to the room with the surveillance files. The recordings are on tape and he can't download them. Alec sets off the fire alarms so Eliot can grab the tapes and run. Back at headquarters, Alec goes over the tapes and tells the team that Moscone keeps his money in offshore accounts belonging to his wife, Heather. He can't break the codes, but confirms that Moscone keeps his liquid assets stashed at his manor. Eliot suggests he hit one of the bagmen, and Parker suggests they tunnel for the neighbors. Nate notes that a wedding planner is setting up a tent and they listen to Heather arguing with Nicky about the wedding. Nate realizes they have a way in.
Heather is at the manor making wedding plans with her daughter. Sophie arrives and introduces herself as her wedding planner, and that Nicky hired her. Heather warns that everyone she's hired are idiots, but Sophie assures her that her team is up to it.
Nate, posing as a priest, checks in with Sophie later. At first she thinks he's talking about her relationship. He hastily corrects her and Sophie tells him that she's still looking. Next Nate goes to the kitchen and discovers that Eliot, working as a chef, is too busy preparing food to search for the money. Heather comes in and tries the food, and spits it out. Nate has to restrain Eliot from stabbing her, and tells him to find the money.
McSweeten and Taggert are trying to listen over the bug and consider how things would be if they had planted more than one.
Hardison searches the house and plants bugs around the house while checking flower arrangements.
Parker is tailoring the wedding dresses when Heather calls Sophie in. Parker can't help being truthful, but Heather actually is impressed that someone is being honest about the maid of honor's weight.
Nate is searching the place when Nicky calls him over for a drink with his son-in-law, Adam. Adam clearly doesn't know what he's getting into. Once he leaves, Nicky explains that he offered Adam $200,000 to disappear, but he wouldn't take it. Nicky figures that Adam just wants more money. A bodyguard comes in and tells Nicky he has a call, and Nate leaves. He tells Hardison to tap the call, and they listen as Nicky tells the caller that they'll make the deal at the wedding reception. Nate figures it will involve all of Moscone's available money. As Nate goes on about how the entire wedding is a con, Sophie sarcastically notes how romantic he is.
In the kitchen, Hardison notes he can't imagine getting married. When Eliot agrees, Hardison realizes he's been married before. Eliot admits he was engaged but the woman married someone else, and he went out and liberated Croatia.
On the day of the wedding, Hardison comes to find Parker and discovers she's dressing. She explains that she's wearing a bridesmaid dress because it gives her access, and because Sophie is making her do it to make it up to the maid of honor. Hardison casually mentions that she looks good, and when she asks it about him, he says that he looks perfect. Nate and Sophie try to talk to Heather, who is busy yelling at people over the phone about the screening room.
Hardison listens in on all his bugs, while Nate spots Nicky's business partner Sergei and his men arrive. Nate calls the team together, but Sophie is busy dealing with Maria. The girl is in tears at how Heather has taken over her wedding and turned it into a huge reception. Sophie sympathizes and tells her not to put her faith in a man. She starts ranting about men in general and how they're obsessed with their work, and then leaves as Maria starts crying even worse.
Nate tells the others that Sergei's man, the Butcher of Kiev, has arrived. Eliot realizes that he'll recognize him from when they fought before and Nate prepares to pull the plug. Sophie insists on staying despite the risk so she can fulfill her promise to Theresa and avoid letting Maria down. Nate has no choice but to agree. He sends Sophie, Hardison, and Parker to find the money, tells Eliot to stay out of the way, and goes to officiate at the wedding.
The ceremony proceeds and Nate starts talking about the value of contracts and how relationships fail. Nicky and Heather are less than thrilled, and Sophie is shocked. Meanwhile, Parker tells Eliot that the money must be in the screening room, but Eliot refuses to go because he's busy cooking.
At the chapel, Sophie realizes that Nate is talking about his relationship with her. He finally gets control of himself and tells Maria that Adam loves him, and that she loves him. He pronounces them man and wife and everyone applauds. Nicky leave with Sergei and Nate warns the others that the deal is going down.
Hardison realizes that Nicky and Sergei are heading for the screening room. They warn Parker, who has no way out. She hides behind the curtain and watches as Nicky gets out the case. However, he discovers that it's empty and Sergei draws a gun and demands answers. Parker tells the others and Nate tries to figure out who set up Nicky. He remembers Heather meeting with Sergei earlier and talking on the phone about the screening room, and has Sophie get her phone.
Sergei says that he didn't do anything when Nicky shot his brother five years ago in Ray's restaurant, but now he wants the money. Meanwhile, Nate and Sophie check Heather's phone and discover her last call was to Sergei. Eliot heads for the screening room but the Butcher spots him and recognizes him. The Butcher grabs a cleaver while his men cut off Eliot.
Nate explains to Sophie that Heather is working with Sergei to set up Nicky. She gets the offshore accounts and a no-fault divorce, and Sergei gets revenge.
Eliot takes out the Butcher's men, and the Butcher comes at him. Eliot defends himself with kitchen implements.
When Sergei prepares to shoot Nicky, Parker pretends to be drunk and stumbles out. Sergei has no choice but to let Nicky out, but warns him that if he says anything, his men will open fire on the partygoers.
The maid of honor gives her speech while Sergei takes Nicky out. Hardison interrupts her speech to call Nicky over before Sergei can get him out. They start the father-daughter dance while Sergei watches.
Despite only having a whisk, Eliot disarms the Butcher. They grapple and Eliot manages to blind him with mushrooms in lemon juice and then knock him out. Nate comes in and wonders if Eliot killed a man with appetizers.
Parker finds Hardison and tells him she got away by pretending she was drunk and having sex with Sergei. Hardison is shocked.
Nate tells Eliot to put the money in the trunk of a car and then tells Hardison to end the wedding now. Hardison tells the newlyweds that they have to leave for their honeymoon and beat an upcoming storm. Parker escorts Adam and Maria out, and Nate tells Sergei that he's a dead man. He brings over Moscone's men, who escort Sergei out. Nate contacts Sophie, who is outside with Heather. She tells Heather that she'll never bother Maria again, and that Nicky will discover she sold him out. Heather knocks her down with her luggage and runs out the front gate.
Nicky comes into the kitchen and Nate tells him that Heather is gone. The others come in and Nate listens in as Nicky calls the Cayman bank and changes his codes so Heather can't get at the money. Hardison writes down the codes, while Nate explains that they put the cash in the newlywed's car. Sophie is touched, and figures that Nate isn't as cynical about marriage as he claimed.
Later, Hardison cleans out Nicky's accounts. Nate approaches Nicky, who says that his wife broke her vows. In response, Nate notes that people who break their promises get what's coming to them. He gives Nicky his Bible and says he'll soon have plenty of time to read it.
Theresa returns to the restaurant and finds the Leverage team waiting for her, with the keys to the restaurant now that they've bought it back for her. Hardison shows them a news broadcast confirming that Nicky is under arrest for the original murder. Parker had the FBI bug on her and the agents recorded his confession when he talked to Sergei earlier. Eliot serves up pasta and everyone celebrates.
