The scene opens ten years ago where a woman is going to have a meeting with a man who asks her out for coffee. However, the next scene shows her running through the streets blindfolded and screaming. The man is Andrew Jenkins, a serial rapist who blinded his victims and is in prison. The scene resumes in the present and Andrew has created a copycat. Lightman goes into the prison dressed as an inmate. He wants to know if there is a connection. Foster, Torres and Reynolds watch from a feed. They watch Lightman pick a fight and get beaten up. However, Andrew ignores him. Foster says that Andrew is a pathological liar and says that they are not going to get anywhere with direct interrogation. Later in the prison, Andrew helps Lightman with laundry. He tells Andrew that he heard of his copycat, Andrew shows signs that he is proud. Lightman says that Andrew didn’t finish the job, but Andrew says that his victims have to live their lives in fear and that is much more satisfying.

They sit down and talk and Andrew explains that Andrew knows that Lightman is a fraud. He tells the truth and says that he’ll offer a bribe for the information. Andrew tells his demands of Chocodiles weekly. He gives him an address and says that Camille Halperin, another woman, has been abducted. He tells him that they are going to be held for 24 hours. In that time, they are forced to see the other victims and then are raped, blinded and released. Later, the guards bring Andrew to the Lightman Group. He lies to them and Loker monitors his reactions. However, he isn’t getting anything. Torres says that Andrew has gotten some “fan mail” and says that it is pointless. Lighman comes in and says that is not true. With time, Andrew starts to tell some parts of truth and saysd that he used to be called “Lightbringer” or another name for the Devil. Lightman says that Andrew is getting board and points out that it is the letter from Milo Dodds who actually called him this name. Lightman and Reynolds decide to pay Milo a visit at his home.
When they get there, Lightman talks about blood and Milo is woozy. He says that Camille is in another room. However, it is just a picture of Camille. Ben attacks Milo out of outrage and draws blood. Milo faints. Lighman says that Milo may be afraid of blood, but it is not the end. At the Lightman Group, Foster talks to Natalie Wright, the only victim of the copycat wanting to talk. However, she says that she doesn’t remember anything. Foster suggests that they talk to Andrew’s original victims. Michelle Russell. Torres watches the videos when Lightman was in prison. She points out that Lightman focused too hard folding the clothes and says that it was an obvious giveaway. However, Lightman sees something different and sees the guard’s nostrils flare and take a quick intake of air. This indicates that he is afraid of something. Reynolds and Lightman question the guard in the video and he says that he is afraid that his daughters would be victimized. He says that he placed messages from Andrew in a park and says that he did it a few hours ago.

Michelle meets with Natalie with her husband, Paul. She says that she remembers not being able to hear anything. Foster leaves the house and is attacked. However, Lightman is there with the police. The assailant manages to escape. Lightman tells Foster that the guard must have overheard the conversation. Torres says that Michelle needs to talk to Andrew to which Lightman refuses. However, Torres decides to do it anyway. Lightman bursts into where Torres is with the women. He tells them to get out and Torres is yelled at. Andrew says that he is just angry because Torres went over his head. Lightman flips the table and goes out of the room. Afterward, Torres tells Lightman that Camille’s dead. He goes back into the interrogation room and tells Andrew that his protégé has surpassed the mentor. He tells him that he actually finished the job and shows Andrew the photo of Camille.
However, the photo is not real. Foster says that it was Lightman’s plan to set it up and says that he wanted Andrew to play him so that he could make Andrew more confident. She says hat Torres’ part in it was the “long con”. Inside the room, Andrew says that it would have been four years. They watch a tape and see that Paul, Michelle’s husband, tried to attack Andrew, However, they see that in his face, it is not anger, but adulation. They realize that he is a fan of Andrews.

Foster goes to Michelle’s and sees that Paul is gone. She reveals that Paul’s real name is Leo Carty. She tells Michelle that he wrote letters using the name Leo and that he married Michelle to get closer to Andrew. What was done to her was for her husband’s pleasure and not to help her. Reynolds looks over the listings for a house with a basement, a drive-in garage and a busy neighborhood. FBI Agents race to find Camille tied up in the basement and find Leo. Back at the office, Torres says that Lightman used her. He says that when he first asked about the copycat, he was prideful, but also resentful. She asks how long they are going to go before they break up and Lightman informs her that she has a lot to learn still. Lightman tells Reynolds that he has been offered and FBI retainer. He says that he want Reynolds on his team. However, Reynolds declines. Lightman informs him that the deal has been made. Reynolds makes it clear that he still works for the FBI. Lightman laughs and says that he is welcomed to the Lightman Group. The episode ends.
