Tractor Man - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
A tractor pulls up to a government building pulling a trailer. A banner drops down that reads, “My name is Harold Clark and I want to talk to the president”. Lightman is playing tour guide for school children. Clyde the turtle was stolen and the teacher thought it was a good idea to take the children on a field trip to learn about lying. Reynolds enters and needs to talk to Lightman. He shows a live video feed of Harold sitting outside the treasury department building. Reynolds plays a recording that says that Harold has enough explosives to blow up the whole town. No one is to leave the building including the field trip of children. Lightman takes a close look at Harold’s face and says that he is not going to do anything dangerous because he is not the Unabomber type.

The children are escorted to the conference room and Lightman gives the reins to Loker to entertain the children while he handles business. They are trying to keep the information from the children as long as possible. Reynold’s boss, Bill Steele, is there to handle things. But Lightman tells that they play by his rules. They need to know if he has a bomb or not in the trailer. Lightman needs to get a hold of Harold on the phone. He calls and Harold immediately tells for Lightman to get the president and hangs up the phone.

Torres and FBI Agent Irving visit Harold’s wife and she didn’t know that Harold was going to do this. The reason he is doing this is because the family farm was taken from him and he wants to talk to the president about it all. She tells that he doesn’t have a bomb, but she is uncertain. Torres picks up on it and Harold’s wife doesn’t want to answer anything anymore and asks to get a warrant. Back in the Lightman Group, Loker is trying to entertain the children and Lightman tells that they are going to be there a while. Lightman tells that he can tell that there is a liar in the midst of the children, still playing the part. Torres calls to the Lightman Group and tells that Harold’s wife is not sure if Harold is dangerous or not. Lightman calls again to Harold and asks what kind of bomb he has. He reacts by giving a look of contempt to the mention of a bomb. Steel wants to know if they have the green light or not and Lightman doesn’t want to make the choice. The snipers are put on standby.

Lightman calls Harold again and questions the bomb. He tells that the bomb is rigged and if anything happens to him, the bomb will go off. The bomb is rigged with Harold’s weight. Reynolds tells that the switch was hidden by his jacket and that they couldn’t see it before. He tells the snipers to stand down for now. Meanwhile, Lightman is talking with Steele and Lightman believes that Steele is just trying to make Lightman the one to blame if things go south. The team find out that the call was from Ron Jackson and they are on it. Lightman wants to make the right choice. Steele tells that the bomb is ticking and one of the children, Oscar, hears him say it. Lightman takes him aside and tells him about the bomb and tells to keep it a secret. Torres and the Agent Irving show up at Ron Jackson’s house and he is nowhere to be found. His wife is there and they look around. In a locked container, they find blasting caps for bombs. Torres sees pictures of the devastation that Ron’s bombs have made already.

Back at the Lightman Group, the FBI want to set a water tank with a charge next to Harold’s tractor that will stop the bomb from exploding first by setting off the charge and the water will defuse the blast, but it will kill Harold. As the tank draws close, Harold tells that it is not his bomb and he doesn’t know how to turn it off. He then tells that “they” will kill his wife if he doesn’t go through with it. Someone is in the house of Harold’s whose part of it all and waiting to kill his wife if Harold doesn’t go through with it. Lightman calls Torres and tells that David Miller is there and that he is willing to kill. She keeps the conversation short and David is standing in front of her. Torres stalls enough for Agent Irving to get David at gun point. Harold’s wife is safe now. Back at the Lightman Group, the teacher is getting scared of what could happen and a child tells that Oscar is acting weird. He is stressed of the bomb but Loker comforts him by telling him that he can write a song to make him feel better. The bomb is still active and they track Ron’s cell phone to a location. Reynolds is going to go after him and Lightman goes along so that he can pick him out.

Reynolds and Lightman arrive and they see the van that was rented by Jackson. There is a protest going on in front of where the president is and Lightman tries to find Jackson in the crowd. He sees him standing still and Lightman tells that Harold’s wife and family are safe. Jackson tries to deny that he is who Lightman knows he is, smiles and reaches for his cell phone. Jackson looks at the van and back at Lightman. That is the trigger. Lightman gives the signal by holding the “Peace sign” up and Jackson is shot in the head by Reynolds. Back at the Lightman Group, Loker and the children have written a song “White Lie” and they sing it. Reynolds calls over to Steele and tells that they got Jackson but Steele is ready to proceed with the water charge. Lightman tells that he just needs some time but Steele tells that time has run out. Lightman calls Harold and tells that they got Jackson and took care of him. He tells that he is in danger of the charger.

In the Lightman Group, Lightman tells that there is not a bomb and gets a video feed of David Miller telling that there is a bomb in the trailer. Lightman is certain he is lying and that there is not bomb. Steele can’t take the chance but goes with Lightman. To be safe the area is cleared and Lightman walks up to Harold and tells that he is safe to come down. He slowly lifts off the seat. There is a click, but no explosion. Lightman goes around the back of the trailer and unlocks the latches and Corn falls out. The children get to leave and one of the children confess to steeling Clyde the turtle. Lightman tells her to sneak it in and no one will know. She wants to tell the teacher. As they leave, the teacher kisses Loker. A now happier Loker is lead by the arm by Foster and they go out for some drinks.
