Delinquent - Recap

The scene opens with a group of burglars breaking in. The owners wake up the owners and the man of the house attempts to stop them. He is thrown over the rail and he is dead. The scene cuts to Covington Youth Center three months later. Ava and Marlie enter in a storage room and Marlie gives Ava a jeweled egg and tells her to watch it for her. She agrees that she will. Lightman is teaching Emily how to drive and like every father, he is a little nervous. He tells that she can parallel park she uses the technology and Lightman tells that she can’t cheat. As she backs up, Lightman yells and Emily crashes into a fire hydrant. They arrive home and Lightman tells that he is paying for the damages. Torres enters and she has gotten a message from her a girl saying that she needs help and that things are going wrong. She wants to know what Lightman makes out of the message. Lightman wants to know who the girl is. It is Ava, her sister.

They arrive at the Youth Center and Ava’s friend Marlie escaped last night and the Deputy Warden says that Ava is on lockdown for the time being and no visitors allowed. Lightman has had enough and plays the tape that Torres played. The Deputy Warden still doesn’t know what that was about. Torres loses it and starts crying. But it is all an act and she tells that she will take the tape and her fake crying to the news if she is not allowed to see her sister. The Deputy Warden tells Dax to tell Dr. Burns that Ava has visitors. Torres meets with Ava in a room and Lightman is there too. Lightman tells that he is Torres’s boss. Ava tells that Lightman is “super sexy” and Foster tells that Ava is testing him. He picks up that Ava is scared of Marlie. Foster is talking with Dr. Burns and we get the background of Torres and Ava. Dax is a ex-offender and says that Ava hasn’t had visitors. She tells that she saw Marlie last night. There is an alarm. A girl is lying in her pool of blood. It is Marlie.

Back in the room, Lightman and Torres enter and Eva tells that Marlie is dead. They confirm. Lightman locks Torres out of the room and gets in Ava’s face and tells that she killed her friend. But he is trying to help her and that she has to tell what she knows. She tells that Marlie was pregnant. She tells that she doesn’t know who the father is and tells that Dr. Burns will know. The Deputy Warden tells the Lightman Group to get out because police need to talk to her. But Lightman tells she needs his help. They tell her that Marlie was pregnant and Deputy Warden wants to know if Dr. Burns knew about it and Burns tells that Tyrell Gardner were caught kissing Marlie. But, the Deputy Warden tells that Tyrrell Gardner was released last month

The Lightman Group is watching the video of Ava and Marlie’s interviews. In the video a Maurice Jones goes under fire and they find a bloody hammer in his room. He claims that he didn’t do it and Torres and Lightman tell that he is telling the truth but the police don’t care. Torres tells that she is going to get Ava out but Lightman tells her to go back to the office. Lightman is breaking Ava out of Youth Center. Back at the Lightman Group Lightman and Ava and Reynolds tells that he is going to pretend that he didn’t see Ava. Torres tells that Ava will stay with her but Lightman tells that she is going to stay with Foster. Lightman meets with the Doctor Burns and Lightman tells that he is the father of Marli’s baby. But he is just trying to get information out of him. Marlie told Burns that she was pregnant 3 weeks ago. Lightman gets a message from Emily that Torres is drunk and in their house. Lightman drags Torres into the shower and chills her out. In the shower Torres tries to come on to Lightman. She snaps out of it and comes to her senses. Out in the living room, Torres tells that her sister drives her crazy and that she doesn’t trust her.

At Foster’s Ava tells that Torres used to come by and help her with her homework and Foster asks what Ava wants for desert. As Foster reaches for the desert, they are assaulted by the same robbers from the beginning. They search for the egg and find it on Ava. Lightman and Torres enter and everyone is alright. Foster tells that Ava helped. Torres blames Ava for the intrusion and Lightman tells Torres to knock it off. Foster yells and says that Ava was just as terrified. Lightman comforts Foster who is crying. Foster tells that they were just kids from Covington. She tells that they were looking for a jeweled egg and Torres tells that Ava is gone. Back at the Lightman Group, Foster tells Loker that Ava is confused. Dax from Covington enters and gives the interview tapes and tells that she didn’t get them from him. Foster pauses on a certain girl, Amber, and tells that is the girl at her house.

Lightman and Torres are outside a property waiting for Ava. Lightman tells Torres to get out or grow up. Torres doesn’t know why Lightman is upset and he tells that Torres has not been honest. Ava walks up and a car pulls up. It is Tyrell and they see Ava putting on a mask like the robbers of the first house and Foster’s. Back at the Lightman Group, Foster meets with Amber and tells that she knows that she was at her house. Amber tells that they needed to get the egg back and that is all. She tells that the “crew” breaks into houses every 2 weeks for the benefit of early release. The Deputy Warden signs off on early release. Ava and Tyrell are escorted into the Lightman Group and Ava tells that she wanted to know what it felt like to have the power. A new Torres is listening to her and says that she believes her. She tells that she needs to trust her. Lightman meets with Ava and Tyrell and calls Tyrell is a little man. Tyrell tells that he recruited to the crew and gave Marlie the egg for leverage. Lightman tells that he needs to know

Lightman brings the Deputy Warden in the office and tells that Dax killed Marlie. She tells that Dax threatened her family. Lightman tells on the television and it is Reynolds and Dax. He tells that he killed the guy in self defense. He tells that he wanted out but „she” wouldn’t want to do it anymore. Lightman tells that every word that comes out of her mouth is a lie. Torres walks in and tells that she is hurting the kids. The Deputy Warden tells that she has given her whole life to the kids. Lightman turns off the window block and all the kids of Covington are looking at her. Torres tells that she killed Marlie to silence her. Torres tells that they recorded every word. Lightman tells it’s her word against his and she loses. Reynolds arrests her and the kids all clap.

Lightman tells that he has a friend in Richmond. Torres tells that she is going to file for custody. Lightman tells that she is fired again and Torres tells that he can’t do that. She tells that she promised Ava that she will take her in. Lightman tells that Torres needs to let Ava find her own way. Torres and Loker pull up at the boarding house with Ava. At the Lightman Group, Dr. Burns knocks on Foster’s office door. He has flowers. Back in Richmond, Ava thanks her sister and Torres apologizes for not being there. It is an emotional goodbye. Emily is finishing up her drivers test and Lightman asks if she passed. She did! She asks if she could drive home and Lightman tells that she is not driving again because she crashed his car.
