The series focused more on Lois (Teri Hatcher) and Clark (Dean Cain) and their developing relationship - first as reporting partners and later as a couple - than Superman. They were also joined by Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, Jonathan and Martha Kents and, in the first season, Lex Luthor and Cat Grant.
Most episodes were filled with Lois managing to find a big story, getting herself into trouble and then calling for Superman to save her.
