Loose Women is a live lunchtime talk show. The news of the day is discussed by a panel of four women, they are often joined by celebrity guests and some shows feature musical performances.

The format of the show is derived from it's American counterpart, The View which has been on air on ABC since 1997. In 2010, CBS launched The Talk in competition. In Australia The Circle has aired on Ten since 2010.

One main presenter is joined by three of the presenters on each show.

The panel tend to sit in the same seats every time they appear on the show, aside from Denise Welch, Jenny Eclair and Lynda Bellingham who move around the rest of the panel. Cast are listed in the order that they appear.

Absent Team:
As the team are often tied to other projects throughout each series run, some presenters appear more sporadically. Major absences are noted at role level if a presenter is known to be absent from an entire series.
Lynda Bellingham Presenter 2007-2011 Series 11-15
Lynda has announced via her twitter that the earliest she would hope to return to the panel would be after May 2012, due to acting commitments, her voice however can be heard on the current sponsor isme.co.uk adverts at each advert break.
Sally Lindsay Presenter 2011-2012 Series 16
Sally has taken a break to work on the new series of Scott and Bailey and Mount Pleasant.
