Sayid Jarrah, played by Naveen Andrews
Sayid was a soldier for the Iraqi Republican Guard, where he was in charge of extracting information from prisoners. Sayid now has difficulties accepting the brutal things he had to do to people for his job.
Sayid was on Flight 815 because he was searching for Nadia, a former schoolmate and prisoner who he had to torture. Despite his obsession with Nadia, he still managed to seduce and fall in love with Shannon. When she died, Sayid withdrew from everything and everyone.
Upon the arrival of "Henry Gale," Sayid took Danielle Rousseau's warning to heart, and was the one to discover that Gale was one of the Others. He has also given thought to Michael's actions since his return, and believes that Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley may be put in grave danger as a result of them.
Sayid has technology and organization skills that have come in handy on the island. |
