In this episode we learn that Richard Alpert was one of the slaves on the Black Rock.

In this episode we learn that the name of the captain of the Black Rock was Magnus Hanso. According to the Lost Experience, this man was Alvar Hanso's great grandfather. Alvar Hanso was the founder of the Hanso Foundation, that funded the DHARMA.
