Carrie Preston, who guest stars as Ben's mother, is the real life wife of Michael Emerson.

Locke: (to Ben) You said that if I killed my father, you'd tell me everything I wanted to know about the island. (dumps his father's corpse on the ground) So, why don't you start at the beginning?
