Yeah, I read about this when looking for articles on his new role for "The Unusuals." I wish I could pull out the race card whenever I wanted.

But Ryan, you get to pull out the "race card" card to shut down any questions about prejudice whenever you want.

Anyway, I think it's important to note that that link is misleading about what Harold Perrineau actually said about the racial implications, particularly since it describes him as angry when the original interview seems quite a bit lighter to me, with several references to him laughing, and this link using words like "slams" and "attacked [the producers]" when he explicitly mentioned (again, in the original interview) at least twice that it's totally the producers' story and that he's only saying he'd write it differently - plus, for the one question where he mentioned race he said only that there were "questions" about the portrayal and that the story "wasn't so interesting" to him, which is more hesitant than is implied by their word choice.

So here's a link to the original interview and here's a link to a clarifying interview.

And besides the race thing, I can understand that while he gets that the producers have to focus on the big picture, as an actor, he's going to have different professional priorities and this past season didn't fulfill what he wanted as far as that goes.
