Make It or Break It: Blowing Off Steam
Tensions are still high at The Rock as the girls continue on without direction and with the surprise return of Lauren, Steve and a possible new heavyweight coach. Before the new coach's strict workout regimen takes effect, Emily, Payson and Kaylie decide to hit up a high school party to blow off some steam. Once at the party, Emily has an uncomfortable run-in with Razor, Kaylie has a fight with Carter after he realizes she lied to him, and Payson can't believe she's wasting her time at such a trivial event. Bringing more stress than fun to their lives, it's not exactly how the girls envisioned their evening.
Meanwhile, Lauren's birthday takes a wrong turn when Summer shows up at her birthday dinner.

We open with some 'across the room' flirtation between Kaylie and Carter. He leaves a message for her in the chalk bucket but she isn’t quick enough to get there before someone else erases the message, leaving Carter all alone in the cold. They meet at the cooler and conclude that they need a better way to communicate. Kaylie’s dad pushes her, acting as coach himself, which clearly pisses her off. They bring up Houston asking for Payson and she says she doesn’t want to go. Kaylie awkwardly excludes Emily who stands between them. Episode Notes
We learned in this episode that the former coach of Rocky Mountain Gymnastics ("The Rock" ), Marty Walsh, finished second in the 1996 Olympics to the new coach at "The Rock", Sasha Beloff. Presumably this meant the Men's Olympic Gymnastics All Around.
