The tryouts for the Olympic Team are upon them and they are finally at their last practice before so. The National committee and team has returned to see what is going on with the girls. Ellen is back and she is about to be the bully that she is while training Emily. She simply does not want Emily on the Olympic team. This knocks down how Emily feels about herself. Marty hears about it and is none too pleased. He snaps on Ellen about it and that results in him getting fired.
Ellen also decides that she is going to kick Sasha out of the gym during practices and then says that she is the coach of the national team. Emily is having a hard time dealing with the emotional beatdown from Ellen, but she still feels good about herself when it comes to her "sponsorship". She still doesn't know that it is Lauren's dad that is her benefactor. Ellen is being calculating as ever and gives Lauren the information needed to know that it is him. Lauren goes to Emily and tells her and that is when Emily meets her breaking point. Luckily, she gets herself back together and does a great try out. She lands herself on the team along with Lauren.
Kaylie is still not treating her body too well. She's not eating anything and it is wearing her down. The team seems to be catching on. Sasha tells Ellen that he believes that she does not need to actually lose any weight for a move that she needs to learn. Ellen really does not care and pushes her harder and harder despite that. Kelly finds out about it, but says nothing about it to anyone. Kaylie has not driven herself into the ground completely yet, so she did successfully get herself a spot on the Olympic team.
Payson is busy taking ballet lessons, because Sasha thinks that it will help her become more graceful and artistic. Ballet is not something that she is good at and she is tired of Sasha's encouragement because she feels he does not get it. That is when he decides that he is going to be there whenever she practices ballet and give her the support she seems to need.
Sasha gives Payson his very own gold medal as the proverbial "dangling carrot" and afterwards, they have dinner together. When they separate, she reads his book.
