Glamorous Ruth Van Rydock is sure her sister Carrie Louise is in danger, which she explains to Miss Marple over tea. Carrie Louise is a quirky philanthropist whose piling up ex-husbands and runs a correctional facility for young men on her estate. Miss Marple makes some gentle inquiries and finds chilling danger close to home. When murder is the real-life plot twist during an amateur theater rehearsal on the estate, Miss Marple needs to weed out the theatrical tricks from what is real to keep Carrie Louise safe.
