It is the night of Darlene “Ma” Boswell Memorial and it is open to the public. Dwight is with his mother at the memorial and she is excited to be there. Doc, Darlene’s husband and two daughters Sadie and Delilah are there and manager Frank Dixon is introduced. Frank is emotional and they leave the stage. After the memorial, reporter Melinda Conner wants to interview Dwight of as one of the fans for her documentary on the Boswell Family. Dwight tells that he is not good on camera but does it anyways. Doc, Sadie and Delilah join in the interview too as another fan named Gene Templar. Dwight sees a patrol car pull up to the memorial. He gets a call on his phone. Frank Dixon has been found dead.

In the back of the venue, they find Frank’s body and Charlie tells that he must have jumped from the balcony and that he was grief stricken. Lt. Rice tells that Frank had a beer bottle in his hand when he jumped. But Dwight tells that Frank didn’t drink. Charlie speaks to Benny the security guard and tells that he is going to have to get the list of the VIP members. Benny tries to refuse but Charlie tells that he will get the list now. Dwight and Charlie enter with the Boswell family and Sadie is with her husband Leonard and Doc Boswell tells that he saw Frank during his post gig “ritual”. Sadie is torn up about the news and Delilah enters. She is drunk and Sadie tells that Frank is dead. She gets into Sadie’s face and Leonard tries to calm down the situation but Delilah yells at him. She leaves and Doc says that his mandolin is missing.
Back with the body of Frank, Dwight tells that Frank has not touched alcohol for 30 years and that the scratches on his face are from the Mandolin. It is no longer a suicide, it is a murder.
At the station Dwight talks to Lt. Rice and tells that they have a list of people in the VIP room and that all of them have alibis. He tells that Delilah’s alibi is not concrete but tells that her feelings at the news that Frank was dead were genuine. Rice tells Dwight not to think that the famous are without killing motives. Charlie is talking about his escapades with other women and Lt. Rice tells that his personal antidotes are distracting and not to say them. Dwight tells that he is going to meet with the reporter and Charlie tells that he has a “thing” to do. Dwight meets with Melinda and she agrees to show the VIP footage of Dwight agrees to let her shoot him on film for her documentary in Memphis music. He agrees.
As they watch, they see Benny get distracted by a blonde bombshell. A mystery man shows up on the film but they don’t know who he is. Later, Charlie and Dwight meet with Benny the security guard and he is confessing that he has been cheating on his wife and Charlie shows the picture of the mystery man and Benny says that he is Gene Templar, a Boswell fan who runs the Boswell website, and that he snuck in when Benny was getting lucky with the blonde bombshell.

Greenback gets the info on Gene and tells that he is a schizophrenic and that he has restraining orders on him from famous country singers. Dwight and Charlie walk into Gene’s place and there is a memorabilia of the Boswell Family on his wall. Dwight finds Doc’s mandolin in his place. They hear a sound and find Gene trying to kill himself. They tell that he killed Frank Dixon but he tells that he didn’t do it. He tells that he went back to the VIP and took the mandolin. He tells that he was with other members of the fan club and Charlie calls him a crazy lunatic. He tells that there are a lot of people who could have killed Frank and he tells that his website is going to be the main website for the Boswells.
Greenback tells that Gene’s alibi checks out and Dwight tells that Gene’s hunches were right and that an allowance that was paid to Doc stopped two days before Frank’s death. Dwight meets up with Delilah at a bar and she tells that she left and walked home the night Frank was murdered. She tells that Frank and Doc never got along and tells that Frank wanted Doc to stop touring with them and that Frank was a better father to Delilah then Doc was. Dwight meets with Doc and he is cocky of his talent. Dwight tells that he was kept on allowance because he wasn’t making nice with the fans. Doc tells that the money was so that Doc will stay married to Darlene. Dwight calls Charlie and tells that he has Doc in the interview room.
Dwight meets Leonard in the hall and he tells that Gene is a nutcase and not to trust him. Dwight wants to know where Charlie is and asks Lt. Rice and she tells that she is looking in on a matter. An informant tells that Charlie had an affair with a woman. She tells that she will let Dwight know her decision about Charlie’s affair.
Greenback tells that Delilah’s prints were on the mandolin and Dwight tells that her alibi is not concrete. Dwight meets Charlie and tells the news and then talks about his accused affairs and Charlie tells that he would never do that to Anne Marie. Charlie tells that he is putting on an act and that he has been telling stories. Dwight tells that he needs to go in and Talk to Lt. Rice and tell her that it is all an act and that he won’t do it anymore. He tells Charlie that he is not as good as a detective with out Charlie there. Charlie tells that Delilah is a time bomb ready to go off. Later, Dwight meets with Melinda and Melinda tells that Dwight is on “the list” of eligible bachelors. Dwight tells that he has a theory. He feels that Delilah and Frank were father and daughter. Melinda tells that she ran a paternity test and that Doc found out what they were and the allowance was hush money. Melinda tells that Delilah is hurting for sure.
Dwight meets with Gene again and he gives Dwight a picture of Frank and Delilah kissing. Dwight has his motive. In the interviewing room, Dwight tells that he knows that Frank was her father. She tells that she kissed Frank and he ran out. At the memorial, Delilah tried to kiss Frank and he told her that he was her father. She grabbed the mandolin and hit him with it. But he was alive when she left the room. She tells that Sadie was having a panic attack and Leonard was not with Sadie because of her panic attack. Charlie comes in and gives Lt. Rice tomatoes. He tells that he needs to explain his situation and she tells that she is not looking in the matter and tells him to get back to work. Charlie and Dwight tell Gene that Leonard is paying Gene off by offering the website to him so that he won’t talk. They tell Gene that they are going to wire him during his talk with Leonard.

Gene meets with Leonard and tells that the detectives want help and he doesn’t want to lie. Gene tells that he wants to go on tour with them in exchange of his silence. Leonard laughs and tells that no one is going to believe him. Gene laughs and Leonard points a gun at him and tells that he will kill him. Dwight and Charlie enter with the rest of the team and stop Leonard from killing him. Dwight performs with Delilah Boswell on stage and they sing together.
