The scene opens with Detective Dwight Hendricks in court and Sutton is taking notes. He tells that whenever Dwight is on the stand, he chews up the lawyer and spits them out. Sutton and Charlie White see that there is a new lawyer, Ms. Austin, who is questioning Dwight about Bryan Tisdale, a man accused of assault. She tells him to tell what happened specifically. Dwight tells that Bryan hit the store clerk after the clerk took a toy from the child after he told that it was reserved for another customer. Ms. Austin asks if Dwight has children and he tells that he doesn’t. She tells that Dwight doesn’t know then and tries to say that it is all. But Dwight wants to answer and talks about when he was a child that his dad would have never hit anyone in front of him for a toy. The jury decides against Bryan Tisdale and Ms. Austin looses her case. Afterward, Dwight tells Ms. Austin that he didn’t mind her chewing him out and that she is doing her job. She tells that she enjoyed it and Charlie tells that Sutton can put that in his notes.

At Tony’s birthday, Paula and Tony are high on drugs and Dwight comes up and gives Tony a gift. Dwight asks if his mother is alright and she points out a plane and tells that it is coming right for them. They clear a path for the plane and it lands safely. Dwight goes inside to investigate and the plane is empty. Lt. Rice and Charlie arrive and Charlie tells that it is a ghost plane. Lt. Rice tells that they need to sweep a 20 mile radius and Sgt. Kethan Roe comes up and tells that he is the liaison for the FFA and tells that the plane has an auto-pilot feature allows for the plane to land safely but someone would have had to trigger it on board. He tells that the owners are Meg and Tyler Oney and gives the address to Lt. Rice and gives her his card and smiles.
Dwight and Charlie visit Tyler and Meg’s house and they enter after no answer. They enter and no one is there. Dwight tells that they left a week ago. Donald, Tyler and Meg’s son and his wife arrive and he talks about how they won millions of dollars in the lottery. Sgt. Roe comes in and tells that he and his team asks Lt. Rice to dinner and she denies his request. Lt. Rice asks about their leads and Charlie is still on the “Ghost Plane” theory. He tells that the plane is warning them for something. Lightfoot tells them not to forget his 40th birthday coming up. Greenback tells that he had to walk because his transmission broke down and had to walk to work. He tells 3 days ago, there was a swipe of the hotel card and that is it on Tyler and Meg Oney. Sutton comes in and tells that the Oney’s have family in the system and they pause on one family member living in Memphis.
Dwight and Charlie meet with Spencer Morgan and Dwight tells that Spencer’s ex-wife told them that after Spencer beat her, he threatened to burn the whole family to the ground. He shows his artificial leg. But Dwight tells that he looks able bodied and can get around fine. Spencer tells that a woman named Jade and him were with each other. He tells that they need to be looking at Tyler because the whole relationship was strained and that he was over there one time ago and Meg was crying and saying that she didn’t want to be with Tyler anymore. Donald barges in and tells that Spencer did it and Sutton is behind him and tases him. Sutton says that he told him to stop but he refused. Dwight sits down with Donald and he tells that Spencer has a rock solid alibi. Donald tells that there were strains of the finances and that Tyler invented the Solar Powered Toaster. He cleaned out Meg’s last husband’s money right out for the invention and it never took off. Donald tells that they won the lottery and problem solved.
Dwight goes through the Oney’s mail and Tyler and Meg had unpaid bills. Dwight tells that it doesn’t make sense. Dwight sees that Greenback is thinking of taking the family in an RV and Greenback tells that they are going to Daytona Beach. Sutton bought a solar toaster and gives the DVD of the infomercial too. He tells that it is good with toast and horrible with bagels. Dwight doesn’t understand how they won the lottery at the right time. Greenback goes to Chicken King for some nighttime snack and sees a person loitering around back. He walks up and someone is getting “serviced” around back by a guy. It is the King, owner of Chicken King Restaurant. They are in Greenback’s car and they talk about the chicken and new logo. Greenback is disgusted and King tells that he needs to pretend that nothing happened. He swears that he won’t do anything else like that.

Dwight walks in Lt. Rice’s office and tells that Tyler and Meg never won the state lottery. They got $500 in 2004 and nothing else. Dwight meets with his mother and she tells that she remembers Meg and tells that they are not the type of people to do it. Dwight tells Paula that she needs to be careful about marijuana and Dwight finds his father’s police manuals. He tells Paula that Greenback is going to take his family on a family vacation and reminisces when his father used to take them on vacation. Charlie walks up to Dwight and he has the Collective Stories of Mark Twain and talks about the Million Pound Bank Note and tells that it is about a poor man who got a million pound bank note and could never cash it and that people gave the poor man things as to suck up to the rich. Charlie tells that is what Tyler and Meg did and Dwight tells that Tyler never paid on the plane and that they gave it to him because of the pictures of the check. Charlie tells that is how Tyler is going to get the Solar Toaster off the ground and tells that he needed an investor.
At the station, Dwight and Charlie meet with Bennett Barns, the co-owner of the solar toaster, and tell that he has motive to kill because of the failure of the product and that he needs to explain. Bennett tells that Donald created a GPS remote control that has the power to tell machines where to go. Dwight and Charlie return to the plane and find Charlie’s “Ghost”. Dwight gives Donald the GPS and that it was him who killed the two because of the fact that Tyler got all the attention and tried to make the plane crash. But Donald tells that he created the mechanism for his mother and that he helped them escape. He tells that Meg sent him and email and tells of her plans. He tells that they purchased a cabin and that is where they are going to be. Dwight and the team go to the place of Tyler and Meg and no one is there either. It is another dead end.
Greenback is balancing his books and he receives the hat from Chicken King, plus a couple thousand dollars. He quickly hides it away. Lt. Rice meets up with Dwight at the bar and he tells that he doesn’t think that the case is going anywhere. Lt. Rice tells that money warps family. She tells that a couple needs financial security and it is hard. Dwight tells he went through the bills and he is only paying on a storage unit. At the storage unit, Dwight and Charlie open it and there is a smell. Dwight notices the box on the left has been opened. They open it and the body of Meg Oney falls out.

Charlie tells that they ran the plates from the boat and it gave the location of Tyler Oney and he is taken to the station. Dwight tries to get him to talk and he tells Dwight to write it all down and he’ll sign it. He tells that he is done. He is a little crazy and tells that he is going to write a book about his experiences. Dwight tells that he’ll have plenty of time for it. It is Lightfoot’s 40th birthday and Lightfoot tells that he should be in the woods communicating with nature. Charlie tells that he is only 1/16 Indian. Greenback shows up and tells that Martin Eek instead. Dwight sees that Ms. Austin is there and Lightfoot tells that Dwight is going to sing. Dwight sings “Caught in a Trap”. Later, Dwight is looking at the books of his father and finds wads of money in all of them that are ripped in half. Dwight visits Ms. Austin and asks about wads of money that is cut in half. She tells that it means that the police officer was dirty and so was the partner. She offers Dwight a glass of wine but he tells that he needs to go.
