Jim picks up his briefing at a junk store on a phonograph and is informed that his target is Alfred Belzig, a Nazi fanatic in charge of a state bank in the East Zone. Belzig arranges passage for those attempting to get to the west… then takes their money and kills them. The IMF must stop Belzig and keep the money from getting to the hands of Belzig’s Nazi conspirators.
Jim assembles the usual team plus convicted bank robber Paul Lebarre. In the briefing, Rollin duplicates the signature of a man seeking to escape through Belzig, a man who has been detained. Barney tests Cinnamon with a hidden device designed to disrupt broadcast signals. Jim warns that the security system is foolproof but he’ll have to get the tape from the security camera to see which safe deposit bank he has the $3 million in.
At the bank, Belzig orders the vault area secured then meets with a man seeking passage to the west. Belzig takes his money and then he and his henchman Kutler escort the man to a secret passage inside the vault. Following Belzig’s directions, the man falls to his death and Belzig deposits the money in his safe deposit box.
A foreign currency shipment arrives and Belzig orders it into the vault. Lebarre is casing the lobby, while Jim and Willy watch him. Jim arrests him and identifies himself to Belzig. Barney arrives as a businessman to put something into his new safe deposit box. Belzig notices him on the security camera acting suspicious and wonders if he’s working with LeBarre. Barney takes the box outside and measures it, then returns it to the vault.
Jim takes Lebarre to the local police station run by Captain Heindorf. Lebarre’s criminal record comes up but they have nothing to hold him on and Jim releases him. Jim asks Heindorf to put him in charge of investigating the bank.
Rollin arrives to meet with Belzig, who doesn’t admit to anything and calls in an armed Kutler to threaten him until he can verify the (forged) signature. Rollin turns over the money and Belzig sets up a meeting for later. Jim and Cinnamon arrive as Rollin departs, and inform Belzig they had to let Lebarre go. Belzig mentions his suspicions about Barney and Jim asks to see the video tape. Jim assigns Cinnamon as a clerk and puts his own security police in charge, overriding Belzig. Belzig has Kutler clear the vault to put Rollin’s money in their secret box. After they’re done, Jim barges in to ask Belzig and Kutler for the currency numbers. Once he leaves, Jim goes for the security tape to cut out the part showing Belzig’s box, while Cinnamon keeps an eye on them. Belzig’s secretary starts to go into his office and Cinnamon distracts her by breaking her necklace and asking for a piece of string. Belzig returns to find Jim patiently waiting for him.
Rollin arrives and Belzig takes him to the vault and into the tunnel Rollin walks along then screams and Belzig and Kutler figure he’s dead. Rollin, knowing what to expect, has evaded the pitfall and makes his way out through the sewers. Lebarre is waiting for him and they take bricks and mortar down into the tunnel.
Barney goes over the security tape section and identifies Belzig’s safety deposit box. He then goes back to the bank to access his own safe deposit box and whisper to Cinnamon which box is Belzig’s. Jim warns Belzig about Barney and they watch the monitors while Cinnamon goes into the vault and uses the photo Barney took earlier to cover the camera after temporarily disrupting the signal to cover her actions. Barney rigs his box with an explosive device and Cinnamon wires his box to Belzig’s. Barney returns his box which sets off the charge and blows open Belzig’s box. Belzig and Cutler come out but Lebarre holds them all at gunpoint and Barney emerges with Belzig’s box. Willy shows up to arrest them and take them outside.
Jim takes the box and Heindorf arrives with his men. Jim wonders why they took that one box and Heindorf insists on opening it. Belzig orders his men to hold them at gunpoint and takes the box, then locks himself in the vault with his men. Jim takes Heindorf to the office with the security camera and they watch as Belzig discovers that Rollin has bricked up the vault door from the other side. Jim and Cinnamon depart, leaving Heindorf to wait until Belzig emerges.
