A hostile nation has launched a satellite with thermonuclear bombs, and the control base is on a fortified island in the Adriatic. The island is protected by a minefield designed by an American defector, Arthur Norris. The IMF must penetrate the base and destroy the satellite, so Barney sets off the mines and the base personnel call in Norris. Paris takes Norris' place and shuts down the minefield so Barney can get in. However, Norris kills his girlfriend before the IMF capture him, leaving Paris implicated for the murder and Barney trapped inside the field.
