Santa Costa's anti-American ruler General Dominguez plans to use the devices soon against the U.S. The IMF must devise a plan to enter the vault, retrieve the warheads, and escape the country. The plan goes well, until ill fortune leaves safecracker Terry Targo with broken hands. Now Dan Briggs must draw on Targo's expert knowledge and take his place.
Behind the Iron Curtain, Janos Karq tries to foment war, and he seems likely to succeed. As a matter of policy, assassination is off the table, so the IMF must devise a way to discredit Karq so that his own people will neutralize him. To do this, they enlist the aid of a master of memory, Joseph Baresh, who memorizes the details of an agent called “Sparrow.” Chief of Security Dmitri Soska has long sought Sparrow, so the IMF arranges for him to capture Sparrow – their own Sparrow. An Iron Curtain propaganda expert, Miklos Klaar, combines real footage of American soldiers with his excellently crafted fake film of those soldiers killing innocent civilians. The IMF must destroy the film and discredit Klaar once and for all.

The microcircuit is hidden in a cube of sugar but the main interrogator, Brobin, hasn't found it yet. The IMF must get Deane and the microcircuit out before Brobin breaks Deane.
The IMF must discredit an American intelligence officer who has defected and taken vital coded information with him. Rollin must infiltrate the embassy where Hughes is located, pretending to be a cryptographer, while IMF agent Tina Mara must slip through the ventilator shafts, get the information from a high-security vault, and make it appear that the defector has slipped out of the embassy to receive payment for his betrayal.

The IMF must recover the alloy, hidden in the museum as a new art sculpture under constant watch.
Revolutionary pro-democracy leader Manuel Delgado is in prison, and Santos Cardoza has himself imprisoned so that he can get Delgado's messages to the outside world. The other convicts believe that Cardoza, a model prisoner, is an informer working for the Commandante, and the IMF must infiltrate the prison and both keep Cardoza alive and find the real informer.
A SAC bomber goes down behind the Iron Curtain, and American scientist and defector Paul Shipherd is assigned to open it when the self-destruct mechanism failed to go off. The IMF must recover the bomber mechanism and bring back Shipherd to the U.S.
General Envir Qaisette plans to force the Archbishop of Povia to declare him regent after the recent death of the kingdom. The IMF must discredit him to make assure he never assumes power.

Unfortunately Toland prefers to kill the women he uses to get the information, putting Susan at risk.

Enemy chief of internal security, Helmut Kellerman, has begun to suspect Selby and has captured a courier who knows Selby's real identity. The IMF must take out the terrorist, Skora, and then steal nitro from Zek's co-conspirator Najiid and use it to set up a fake assassination attempt of their own to get Zek to announce that his coup is going forward.
Jim and Rollin must recover a master list of double agents from an enemy intelligence minister, but Jim is shot and captured. His only hope is an inside agent, Nicole, but despite their mutual romantic attraction it's not clear which side Nicole serves.
El Presidente De Varo is unaware that his finance minister and close friend, Phillipe Pereda, has stolen $40 million from a supposedly impenetrable vault and plans to make it look like De Varo embezzled it, then assume power. The IMF team must get into the vault, make it look like the money was stolen (when Pereda knows it wasn't there in the first place!), and convince the finance minister to put his own money back in to cover the theft until he can reveal the fake embezzlement.

The IMF's plan goes awry when Jim is forced to run the gate and the unconscious Borodin is accidentally shot and killed. Now Jim must go on trial for Borodin's murder... with Paris as his defense attorney. Meanwhile Barney must infiltrate the base's water tower in broad daylight to drug everyone in the facility to set up Turek.

The IMF must first drug his boss Stone then convince Merrick that the paralyzed mobster is "speaking" through clairvoyant Paris, to convince Merrick to invest the million dollars in a phony drug deal they've set up.
Deputy Premier Kamirov plans to take over his country of Lucarno, and has concealed the death of the Premiere by replacing him with a double, Gemini. The team must provide Kamirov with a better duplicate: Paris disguised as a humanoid robot.
The IMF goes after an art collector, Victor Laszlo, who has stolen a fuel formula and plans to sell it to enemy agents. To pull off their scheme, they have to get it out of an impregnable safe in Laszlo's apartment.
King Selim of Qamadan has been secretly imprisoned by his brother, Prince Samandal, and plans to use hypnosis to control him. The IMF must rescue Selim and restore him to the throne.
A spy, Anton Malek, has discovered he's dying of an incurable disease and decides to start a nuclear war in the Federated People's Republic where he was planted as an undercover agent. The IMF must offer him a possible cure and then convince him to defuse the foolproof bomb.
Three men engineered the theft of a large sphere of trivanium isotope, necessary for development of nuclear missiles. One of the men, Johan, killed another one, Silff, and framed him for the sphere's disappearance to cover his tracks for the third man, Security Chief Vorda. The IMF must get Johan to reveal the sphere's location.
General Ramon Sabatini has faked the death of Prince Stephan, his country's rightful ruler, and is keeping him imprisoned to force Stephan's fiancee, Francesca, to marry Ramon and make him heir to the throne. Once positioned, Sabatini plans to dispose of Stephan's successor, the simple-minded Nicolai, as well as Stephan and Francesca. The IMF must stop Sabatini and rescue Stephan.
A disguisd Paris takes the place of Nicolai, while the IMF fake Francesca's death and Barney steals the crown jewels and replaces them with fakes. However, Barney is blinded trying to rescue Francesca from the tomb she's been placed in, and Tracy persuades Vargas that Sabatinni has turned against him.
Paris (disguised as Nicolai) survives the explosion, while Jim convinces Sabatini that only Prince Stephan knows where the stolen jewels are. The IMF must get Stephan out of prison using a hidden projection screen, and reunite him with Nicolai and Francesca.
Kruger Schtelman has been a prisoner for 25 years in the East European Republic, but has never given away the location of hidden SS funds. The IMF must steal Schtelman from the East European security forces and find a way to break him.
Two rival drug lords, Prado and Sandoval, have acquired two halves of a microfilm containing the name of 16 undercover agents. The IMF must use a trained dog, Chico, to get the microdot out of Prado's impenetrable bomb vault.

The IMF must discover the identity of "K", the head of European espionage. To do so, they set a trap for a known enemy agent, Lady Cora Weston, getting Paris close to her.
The IMF must identify assassin Werner Stravos, by trying to get close to Eric Bergman, his controller. They have only two days to trick Bergman into leading them to Stravos before the assassin kills his next target.
Constantine, leader of the People's Republican Army of Logosia, has been captured by the military junta, led by Yuri Kozani and his lieutenant Colonel Alex Strabo. The IMF must free Constantine and turn Strabo and Kozani against each other. However, since they can't get Constantine out of the area because of the airtight blockade, the team hides him in plain sight.
While on vacation with Jim, Barney becomes involved with a woman but her jealous ex-boyfriend tries to kill Barney and falls on his own knife. The dead man's brother, Chief of Police Manuel Corba, arrests Barney and prepares to have him executed. The IMF must take on the corrupt policeman and trick him into leading them to Barney.
Mystic Emile Vautrain has brought the Grandduchess of the Duchy of Trent under his sway and plans to make himself dictator. The IMF must convince him they have a way to let him trick the Duchess into believing he's immortal... then have Paris take his place.
Premiere Rojek plans to manipulate his country's youth congress to endorse him, so the IMF set Paris up as the long-lost son of a martyr for Czerny to use him as a supporter.

Anti-American Japanese businessman Toshio Masaki frames the American economic representative for the murder of his wife, and the IMF must trick Masaki into confessing.
Alexi Kerkoska, son of the late Premier, has convinced his sister Anna to defect with him. However, it's a ploy to both capture U.S. agents and gain a secret document their father entrusted to Anna, with names of those friendly toward the West. The IMF must stage a fake rescue plot as a cover to get Anna out of the country past a series of mines.
The IMF must steal a rocket laser from an Eastern Bloc country, then smuggle out Father Bernard and his list of operatives. However, when Bernard dies of a stroke and their contact is killed, the team manage to get the laser and break it down into five pieces to smuggle out of the country. However, greedy nightclub owner Eric Schilling inadvertently obtains one of the pieces and tries to sell it back to the IMF.
The team must rescue biracial democracy leader Frederick Kolda from the repressive government. The IMF gets Kolda but one of their teammates is wounded and forced to take refuge in the city. The team must rescue their comrade before the authorities capture him.
The IMF must get three scientists out of a foreign country, but when one of them is killed, they must team up with scientist's son Alex to recover his father's notes. However, Dana and Alex's girlfriend are captured by the government and the IMF must free them and get the notes.
The elderly Albert Zembra is the Syndicate boss of the Mediterranean and is preparing to turn over his secret list of his organization's elements to his designated successor, security chief Carlos Empori. The IMF must obtain the list by turning Zembra against Carlos using Zembra's granddaughter Eve, who is engaged to Carlos.
Paris, disguised as a businessman, is returning from a mission and captured by the Popular Revolutionary Front, terrorists led by the vicious Robert Siomney. When the terrorists try to force the release of three PRF prisoners, including group leader Jorge Cabal's son, Paris feigns illness so that medicine delivered to him by Barney can conceal a tracking device. The IMF must then turn Cabal against Siomney by convincing the government to fake the execution of Jorge's son.
Syndicate boss Charles Peck plans to set up his puppet Mayor Steve Tallman as governor by hiring provocateur Billy Walsh into creating student riots, so Tallman can deal with them and appear strong. The IMF must eliminate Peck for good by convincing him that Tallman has an illegitimate daughter (Dana) who is a revolutionist, so he believes she'll weaken his puppet's resolve.
Barney is reunited with his brother, newspaperman Larry Collier, but their happiness is short-lived when mobster George Corley has him killed due to his investigation. Corley is allied with corrupt police captain Dave Abbot and Barney must infiltrate Corley's organization and set the two men against each other.
James Reed, a foreign agent undercover as a system analyst, is going to the Baltimore Corporation to procure an electronic guidance system of U.S. missiles. Dana replaces Reed's contact and Jim takes the place of the supervisor who has access to the lab with the guidance system. However, a psychopath, John Hecker, spots Dana and mistakes her for his girlfriend... who he killed. The team must locate Dana, who is the only who knows of Reed's plan to kill Jim after the theft.
A hostile nation has launched a satellite with thermonuclear bombs, and the control base is on a fortified island in the Adriatic. The island is protected by a minefield designed by an American defector, Arthur Norris. The IMF must penetrate the base and destroy the satellite, so Barney sets off the mines and the base personnel call in Norris. Paris takes Norris' place and shuts down the minefield so Barney can get in. However, Norris kills his girlfriend before the IMF capture him, leaving Paris implicated for the murder and Barney trapped inside the field.
Gregory Tolan leads an underground cell that finances it's attempt at American revolution with robberies. The cell is one of many led by the mysterious Jonathon Brace. Jim and Dana impersonate Tolan's next two recruits and join the gang. However, when the next robbery goes wrong, they're forced to take refuge in an empty house and find a way for Brace and Tolan to make contact so they can find Brace's location.
Miguel Fuego, premier of San Pascal, has signed a secret nuclear arms treaty with a country hostile to the U.S. The IMF must expose the treaty to the world before the missiles are installed. They plan to turn Miguel's nephew Ramone against him by convincing him that Miguel tried to engineer the death of Ramone's father but then have him lobotomized and locked away.
Colonel Alex Kohler, tyrannical governor in the segregated African nation of Bocamo, has captured native John Darcy, codename Kitara, the leader of a liberation movement. Kohler is unaware of Darcy's true identity but is torturing him for the location of a truck full of gold bullion that Darcy stole. The IMF must get into the prison, learn the location of the gold from Darcy, then lead Kohler there... and convince him he's a black and fool his officers into believing he's Kitara.
Howard Bainbridge, a defector to the east, developed a lethal nerve gas formula but was contaminated. He escaped and returned to his father Justin's estate, only for Justin to kill him and hide the body. The IMF must use their collection of tricks to convince Bainbridge he's haunted by his dead son and his late wife.
Alexander Vanin is an enemy agent serving 20 years for espionage. Vanain hid a list of undercover enemy agents in the U.S. prior to his arrest, and Gergor Mishenko, Vanin's control, has been ordered to find it. Vanin knows Mishenko will have him killed as soon as he gives out the info. The IMF must find the list by getting Vanin out of jail and reuniting him with his wife, who holds the key to unlocking Vanin's memory, which he's blanked out using a post-hypnotic command.
Arms dealer Armand Anderssarian is planning to close his biggest deal ever, selling stolen American arms to guerrilla groups throughout the world. The IMF must sucker Anderssarian into financing a bogus military theft and sponsoring them with money from his ally Minister of Defense Sartori, while Paris takes Anderssarian's money at the casino tables.
Syndicate executive John Lawton realizes that one of his aides, blinded Warren Hays, may be an undercover operative. He is unaware that Hays is partnered with one of Lawton's two lieutenants, Harry Matula. Lawton's other man Dietrich wants Matula removed for his own purposes. Jim must have himself surgically blinded and impersonate Hays to turn Lawton against Dietrich.
To eliminate Syndicate partners Frank Stevens and Thomas Kroll, the IMF must convince the elderly Kroll that the last 34 years of his life have been a dream. Once they've convinced him it's the same day in 1937 when Kroll and Stevens killed rival mobster Danny Ryan, they hope to get Kroll to lead them to where the corpse is hidden so they can put the men away for good.

The IMF must locate an incoming $8 million shipment of heroin by tricking hit man Frank Kearney into believing his boss Taynor plans to kill him. To pull it off, they make the religion-hating Kearney believe that he received a transplant from a priest, and that it is turning him "good."
Frank Brady and his lieutenant Martin Stoner have forced dozens of businessman throughout the Southwest into partnership with the Syndicate. Stoner's wife Lois has become a hopeless alcoholic because of the strain of her marriage and is at a sanitarium, where Brady has ordered his man Dekker to kill her if it looks like she's going to talk. Casey has to take her place and make it appear that Stoner and Lois plan to betray Brady.
Frederick Hoffman has stolen and hidden a $75 million dollar shipment of stolen gems from his employer, Berlinger, who is torturing him for the information. The IMF must free Hoffman and convince him to lead them to the gems, while implicationg Berlinger.
Whitmore Channing, a Defense Department adviser, plans to sell top secret data concerning the U.S. Distant Early Warning radar system to enemy agents. The IMF must determine the identify of the agent making the pickup, by tricking Channing into giving them the information by convincing him that his employers have invaded the U.S., and he has to prove to them he's loyal.
Syndicate boss Stu Gorman has muscled into the recording industry, using the skills of financial expert Joe Belker. The IMF must turn the two men against each other by convincing them that Barney has a tape made by a girl that Gorman murdered... them making Gorman think that Belker plans to use it to blackmail him.
The IMF must convince an aging communications tycoon, Edward Granger, to turn against his Syndicate backers. To do so, they plan to trick him into believing they're aliens who can grant him immortality.
Fugitive Syndicate enforced Wendell Hoyes has stolen a canister of a lethal experimental nerve gas and threatens to release it unless his brother Cayman is released from prison. Unknown to Wendell, the canister has a defective casing and will leak in 43 hours. With time running out, the IMF stage the prison escape of Wendell's girlfriend Saretta in the hopes she will lead them to him.
Syndicate executive Edward Trask has modernized the organization's illegal betting parlors, while Mason eliminates the competition. The IMF must turn the two men against each other by setting Trask up with a "ringer" horse and convince Mason that his partner has rigged the race.
Reese Dolan has set up a major drug distribution network on the island of Malot at the chateau of French underworld figure Madame Renada. Claiming to represent Renada, Jim and Barney secretly fly Dolan to what is actually an island off the coast of Georgia where Casey pretends to be Renada. Casey is infiltrated into Corvin's organization, taking the place of his mail-order bride. Corvin discovers she knows an airline employee (Jim) who can smuggle his money out of the country but when Jim bails out and Casey "dies," Corvin tries to use her corpse to smuggle out the funds.
Former private eye Larry Edison has a roll of film that links Syndicate boss Vincent Vochek to a murder. Casey must impersonate Edison's accomplice, Leona, while Jim gets Edison out of prison.
Syndicate vice lord Emil Gadsen is prepared to leave the country ahead of an indictment, leaving his partner Thor Coffin in command. Gadsen has a secret list of public officials on his payroll and the IMF must get it. To do so they convince Gadsen he has a previously-unknown Siamese twin who he is symbiotically linked to, and Coffin is willing to torture him to get the list.
Syndicate boss Leon Chandler is on trial for murder, but his puppet, Lt. Governor Harve Harrison, will be testifying on his behalf, assuring an acquittal. The key witness against Chandler, Nora Dawson, has been committed and Chandler has arranged for her to be driven insane. The IMF must switch a disguised Casey for Nora, then get Nora to the trial.
The Syndicate has a secret political figure, underworld codename C6, in their pocket. Syndicate veteran Harry Fife and his hit man, Luke Jenkins, handle operations in C6's area. Barney disguises himself as Jenkins and they set up Casey as a new bag woman, who is unaware that Fife plans to have her unwittingly deliver a bag of explosives to C6.
Ollie Shanks and Rudy Blake run a loan shark racket in the Islands. They're preparing a $10 million transfer to the mainland and the IMF must steal it to discourage the Syndicate from backing them. However, Willy is caught during the theft and tortured with a truth serum derivative, so the IMF must turn the partners against each other and rescue Willy before it's too late.
Orion Kerr runs a resort city for the Syndicate, and the IMF must gain evidence of mob involvement to get a bill passed against gambling. The IMF must convince Kerr's superiors that he's planning to embezzle from them, and convince Kerr that his bosses plan to wipe him out.
The Stafford brothers, Doug, Art, and Joe, have engineered a $8 million payroll heist. The IMF tries to turn Doug against the others so he can lead them to the loot. However, when Art orders a hit on Jim, it fails but the team leader is stricken with amnesia and is wandering the city on his own with Art's killers on his trail.
The IMF must locate the wristwatch-camera of undercover agent Fred Stenrock, codename "Toledo," who had copied incriminating evidence against Syndicate gambling head Dutch Krebbs.

Syndicate lieutenant Charles Rogan is bringing Hammond his $5 million payoff in the form of a safe deposit key. The IMF must get the key and get the money from the safe deposit box.
Undercover agent Louis Parnell has been exposed to Syndicate leader Mike Apollo. The IMF must discover his whereabouts and rescue him, by framing Apollo for the murder of Syndicate member Mike Epic's wife. Apollo must bring Parnell out to produce him as a witness.
Dr. Victor Flory heads a terrorist organization, Alpha Group, and government scientist Paul Morse plans to sell him a biological weapon, TOD-5. Morse's contact is Gordon Holt, so the IMF must trick Holt into believing that TOD-5 has leaked and is devastating a small town... and that he has the plague.
