Two Monkeys and a Panda - Recap

The scene opens with Claire talking to Cheryl and Phil says that he found Day Spa tickets that expire tomorrow. She tells him that she doesn’t have any time for that stuff and says that she has to make sure that everyone gets to where they have to get to go and burn DVDs of the Talent Show. He says that she can tell Cheryl that she is not feeling good. Claire says that Cheryl would see her around and then it would be hard to explain to her. Phil says that he will give the tickets to someone at his work. Hailey comes out and sees that Alex is wearing her sweater. Alex reminds her that she borrowed something of hers too before and Claire says that Alex gets to borrow Hailey’s sweater. She tells Alex that she better not ruin it. Meanwhile, Cameron asks Mitchell how the Farmer’s Market was and he says that they only had Kale. Cameron says that they are going to have to “adopt” a new thing on Kale. He tells Mitchell that he heard of a girl who found out that she was adopted and is now a stripper. Cam’s plan is to make sure that Lily knows that being adopted is not bad at all.

Alex is trying to get her Chello out the door and catches Hailey’s sweater on the door. It rips and Claire says that it isn’t that bad, but it is. Hailey comes up and Claire hides the fact that the door ripped Hailey’s sweater because she wants the girls to have a good relationship and be able to do things that she used to with Mitchell like do each other’s hair and talk about boys. Meanwhile, Manny tells Jay that he is dating a younger woman, Chloe, who is 13 months younger. Gloria comes down stairs and Jay jokes that he is going to have to trade Gloria in for a younger model soon, but Manny doesn’t like the joke. Gloria says that it is a beautiful day and doesn’t want to do it. They are going to see some plots that are going to be for when they die. At Mitchell and Cam’s, Michelle says that Kale is not ready to be classified as a dish. Cam is going through memories and says that she is putting together a scrapbook and write a storybook Two Monkeys and a Panda. Cam sees on Lily’s birth certificate that it is not Tucker-Pritchett, just Tucker as a middle name. He tells Mitchell that he did this on purpose and Mitchell walks off angry.

Phil decides to use the Spa tickets for himself because the Spa wouldn’t take the tickets back. John and Gloria arrive at the crypt and Gloria says that she is going to the ground and not in some drawer. Meanwhile Phil is socializing with everyone and Claire calls. She says that she is having a rough day and tells that she has had a rough day and tells that she has to replace Hailey’s sweater. Phil tries to offer his help, but Claire is not interested and tells him to simply take care of dinner and hangs up. Back at the crypt and the Ruthlages, the couple selling the spots, run into Jay and Gloria and Winnie says that she has concerns that Gloria is going to remarry and want to be buried with her new husband. Gloria says that they bring up a good point. They walk away. Cam walks up to Mitchell and apologizes to him. Mitchell says that he did it and says that Cam was freaking out all the time prior to Lily arriving and Mitchell never knew if Cam wasn’t going to leave. He says that he needed Cam’s signature and he couldn’t go up to Cam.

At the Spa, Phil gets advice from the wives about the fact that Claire doesn’t want Phil to solve her problems. Phil realizes that he has been doing it all wrong. At Jay’s, Manny says that he is wrestling over having Chloe as a girlfriend. Jay says that he knew that Gloria is going to remarry. He asks if he is the Putz and Manny tells that when Jay showed up, Gloria fell in love with Jay during their first fight and realized that she met her match. Claire gets in and Alex asks if she got it. However, the security tag is on. Claire tells that she has it. However, ink splashes on it. Claire’s plan is ruined. Phil comes in and listens to her. She cries and says that she appreciates it. Phil asks if Claire sees anything different about him. She can’t tell and he is crushed. Jay talks to Gloria and says that she is welcome to remarry. He gives her a coffee can and says that she is to put his ashes in that and it doesn’t matter if he is in the ground or a crypt, as long as he is with her. Jay says that it is great because his ashes are going to be on the mantle driving the guy crazy.

Mitchell comes in and says that he called the adoption lawyer and they are going to change it to Tucker-Pritchett. Mitchell says that he took a stab at the story and Cam tells that the monkey’s names are Coco and Miko. When Mitchell says “adoption”, Lily claps her hands and Mitchell says that Cam did it. Later, Cam and Mitchell thought that they were sitting on a gold mine with the storybook for gay parents who adopt, but they were wrong when they go to the bookstore and find a book on every gay and strait parenting books.
