Someone to Watch Over Lily - Recap

The scene opens with Jay offering Mitchell and Cam some coffee and they tell that they don’t need any. Manny tells that he switched over to the coffee-press and no longer settles for the drip. Gloria tells that she will take any time to spend time with Lily. Mitchell tells that they are looking for potential candidates to watch over Lily in the case that something happens to both Cam and Mitchell and Cam says that they haven’t visited his family because Mitchell feels that they are not good at raising kids. Claire and Phil was their first pick, but their house was chaos and everything was hectic. At Jay’s Cam is yelling into the phone and tells that they need to keep warm. Cam tells Jay that his family is in the middle of a blizzard and Manny asks if they really lost two cows. Cam tells that they are frozen solid. Jay tells that he is going to the Sports store and Cam asks if they can go with him. He agrees and Mitchell leaves Lily with Gloria. She tells that she is going to go to the mall with her and get her some earrings. However, Mitchell isn’t really listening and agrees.

At Claire and Phil’s home, Phil tells that he can take Luke with him to work and says that the receptionist is going to be there. Luke says that she smells good. Claire says that she has to take Luke to run some errands. Claire is really taking Luke to a psychologist because he has shown behavior that is bizarre such as shaking back in forth with the paint mixer. Alex asks who is going to take her to her chello lesson and Claire tells that Hailey can. She tries to refuse, but Claire reminds Hailey that she is not going to be allowed to go snowboarding with her friends. She agrees, but tells her not to be dumb. Luke apologizes to Phil that he can’t go with him and tells him to smell her for him. He almost says that he always does, but stops himself. Claire talks with the psychologist and she tells that she has just gotten done talking with Phil. Claire asks how Phil knew that she was going to the psychologist and he says that she made a little notation.

Meanwhile, Hailey drops Alex off at her teacher’s house and Alex comes back and tells that her teacher is not there. She tells Hailey to drop her off at home, but she says that there is no time. She tells Alex that she can come, but she stays quiet to what happens. At the sporting goods store, Mitchell tries to tell that Gloria and Jay are a perfect choice to leave Lily with. Cam tells that he is still not sure about it and ignores Mitchell’s question. Manny talks to Jay and tells that he might be coming down with something and that he can’t go camping with a cold. Jay tells that Manny is hiding behind something and tells that he can do anything. He tells Manny to climb the rock wall to prove that he can do anything. Meanwhile at the psychologist’s office, Phil tells Claire that Luke is a healthy boy that is normal. The psychologist comes out and invites Claire and Phil in her office. She tells that Luke is normal, but has a problem with paying attention. During the meeting, Phil is distracted. Claire blurts out that she is afraid that Luke is turning out to be Phil. She tells that she said it because it was also Phil who was rocking back and forth with the paint mixer.

At the sporting goods store, Cam sees Jay belittling Manny so that he will climb the wall. Cam intervenes and tells Manny to go down and tells that he will show him how to motivate without bad comments. Cam tells the employee to harness him in. Meanwhile, Claire is trying to explain to Phil that she didn’t mean anything, but he is upset with her. In the argument, they leave Luke in the parking lot. Back at the sporting good store, Cam tries to show that there can be reinforcement without the belittling and Jay gets distracted when Mitchell tells that he would be great to leave Lily with and he drops the rope supporting Cam and Cam falls. Meanwhile, Alex and Hailey break into the school and put shaving crème into a girl’s locker that Hailey hates. They are interrupted when they hear security and make a run for it. Alex tells that she never has done this and sprays shaving crème on her cheek. Both Alex and Hailey laughs and then they run out of the school. Back at Jay’s home, Cam is lying down and Jay says that he is sorry that he dropped him. Mitchell tries to mention Gloria, but she comes in with Lily with her ears pierced. Mitchell thought she said Herrings.

Hailey and Alex get in the car and Alex feels great. Alex tells that she skipped her chello lesson and Hailey tells that she can quit it and says that no one would care if she would stop trying so hard. Hailey tells that she did something bad too. She is about to say it and then sprays Alex with shaving crème. Claire tries to talk to Phil and says that she was just wondering if she could tweak the little thing that is wrong and fix it. Phil says that they have a perfect child. However, they realize that they left him. Inside Jay’s, Cam says that his family would be good, but Mitchell tells that they are too far and they have frozen cows. Mitchell tells that maybe they should look at Claire and Phil again. However, they run in and Phil tells that they left Luke at a parking garage. They run outside and Luke pulls up in a limo. He tells them that he went to a phone and got distracted and then saw that there was a wedding and then met the married couple who drove him home. Claire is happy that they have a smart son and Phil tells her that he is going to do just fine.

Manny goes downstairs and tells Cam that Jay and him had a talk on the ride home that showed that Jay cares about him and Manny tells that Jay is a good father. They all gather around and Cam tells that he has an announcement. Phil’s phone rings and he goes out. Cam tells that if anything happens to them, Gloria and Jay are to take Lily. Gloria is happy and tells Lily that she is hers if anything happens. Claire asks why Phil and her weren’t picked. She tells that they have three kids that have been well raised. Just then, Phil comes in and tells that they have to go to get Hailey and Alex out of jail for breaking into the school. Later, Mitchell gets home and Cam tells him to go out for a little longer. Mitchell asks why and finds out that Cam has Lily dressed in a Cabana costume. He tells that he will get one with her and then they will take it off her.
