The scene opens with Phil and Claire in the grocery store. Phil runs over Claire’s shoe and makes her fix her shoe. An attractive woman comes by and there is a loud crash. Claire is on the floor with cans on her. He asks her if she picked from the bottom again. Meanwhile, Cam and Mitchell are walking around the house and Cam has ideas to tell that they are going to adopt a boy. Mitchell wants to keep it low key and tries his best. That means that he has a banner with sparklers while dancing to “Let’s Hear It For the Boy”. Cam asks if Lily likes it, but she hits the couch and says that she hates the baby. They tell that they have had that problem and they are trying to fix it. A neighbor friend comes over and Lily pushes the baby.

Mitchell talks to Cam afterward and says that he is worried about what Lily did to the baby. Cam says that it is nothing, but Mitchell tells Cam that he coddles Lily too much. He denies it, but it is clear that he does. At Jay and Gloria’s place, Gloria gets off the phone with Manny’s Principal who says that Manny stole a girl’s necklace. At Phil and Claire’s, Alex is trying to study while Haley laughs. They go down to dinner and Phil tells about the grocery store. Claire says that Phil pushed her in. The kids say that Claire always has to be right. Back at Gloria and Jay’s place, Manny is nervous and Jay asks what he wants to say to him about the necklace. He comes clean that he took the locket and Jay says that Manny is going to tell him mom. Jay asks if Manny is wearing the locket and he says that he isn’t.
The next day, Manny tries to avoid telling his mom, but Jay makes him. She tells him that she believed him and says that is wrong. She asks what could have happened to make him do this. Jay tells Gloria to take Manny to the Principal’s office. Back at Phil and Claire’s, Haley and Alex are in the attic and are arguing over the room space. Luke comes up and tells that he might want it. Mitchell gets home and says hello and Cam says that he had a rough day. Cam shows that he can stop coddling. Mitchell takes pleasure in the fact that it is not his fault. Manny and Gloria get to the school and Gloria feels bad for Manny. She opens the girl’s locker and throws the locket inside.

Mitchell drops Lily off at preschool and tells Ms. Elaine that Cam has stopped coddling Lily. However, she says that it is not a coddling issue and that it looks like a sharing issue. Mitchell realizes that it could be his fault that Lily is against the baby. Luke goes up in the attic and Claire tells him that Luke is going to be back in his room after a night. They tease Claire and say that she has to always be right. She says that she is right and Phil teases her more. She says that she will meet them later at Mitchell’s. Meanwhile, Gloria and Manny get back to the car and say that they talked to the Principal. However, Manny is sweating when Jay asks him about what happened.
They get to Mitchell and Cam’s place and Lily dressed herself. Cam doesn’t like it, but allows it. Jay tells Gloria that he knows that Manny didn’t go to the Principal’s office. Claire talks to Lily and asks how old she is. She says three, but shows four fingers. Claire corrects her and Phil says that Claire is always right. Claire decides to show her video now and it is the surveillance footage of the store’s isle. It clearly shows that Phil pushed Claire.

However, the family can’t believe that she went to all that trouble for that. She says that it was nothing. Cam tells that children are impressionable and that anything can happen. Mitchell apologizes and spills that they are adopting a boy. Cam puts down the banner and turns on the music. Cam gets upset and Jay says that children don’t need siblings and tells about the time when Claire put Mitchell in the dryer. Claire says that she was right on that. Phil can’t believe that it has been going on since she was 5 years old. Jay says that Manny did something great and says that he is proud. However, Manny cracks and Jay says that he was right. Everyone gets where Claire got it from. Later that night, Luke can’t stand the attic and goes back to his old room. The episode ends.
