Door to Door - Recap

The scene opens with Claire driving Haley and Alex to school and Claire tells that gossiping is wrong, but she starts talking and gossiping too. Suddenly, a car speeds in front of them and Claire slams on her breaks. She says that it is a dangerous intersection and Haley says that she almost smeared her lipstick and Alex is offended because she got groped. She tells them that one day someone is going to hit someone. She almost hits Phil and Haley smears lipstick on her face to which Alex says that she is fine. Meanwhile, Jay tells Gloria that she has to put her car in all the way so that the gate closes. Manny comes in and tells him that his school is selling wrapping paper and needs him to cut him a check. Jay says that Manny needs to learn to sell. Manny is asked to write something down, but Manny doesn’t always get what Jay says to him.

At Mitchell and Cam’s house, Mitchell says that there is a note about a reschedule of an adoption agency coming for a surprise visit. He isn’t too sure and Mitchell says that Cam needs a new system. Mitchell sees that the kitchen is a mess and says that he doesn’t want to clean it up like always. Cam says that he is going to clean it up this time. Meanwhile, Luke is playing basketball when Phil comes up. He tells him to catch, but Phil isn’t paying attention. The ball hits him in the head and goes into the basket. Luke says that they need to tape that and Phil says that he can’t because he has to change light bulbs for Claire. Luke teases him. He goes inside to find Claire busy with organizing things to get them a stop sign. She says that she has to get 50 signatures. She tells that she needs help getting signatures and the family makes up excuses where they can’t help.

Gloria gets dinner ready and puts Stella outside. However, she forgot about the gate. Manny comes in later and tells that he is done with no success. Jay tells him that he can’t quit and that he needs to know what he is selling. Jay tells him that he is selling Christmas. Meanwhile, Gloria and Cam are looking for Stella and Cam figures out that he should have been in “Steetcar”. Mitchell calls and tells Cam that he didn’t clean up the kitchen like he said he would. Cam says that Gloria needed him. Mitchell says that he isn’t going to clean it up and Cam agrees to it. Meanwhile, Luke tries to have Phil do the trick again, but it doesn’t work. He tells that he doesn’t have time. Luke says that it was a dumb idea. Phil decides to do it so that Luke won’t think that he is a loser. Take after take, it still doesn’t work. Back at Mitchell and Cam’s, Mitchell is trying not to clean up.

Jay and Manny go door to door and try to sell wrapping paper. Jay shows that they have to lie to make a sale. Gloria asks the neighbors about Stella and Claire tries to get signatures. Claire comes in and asks if her family if they had any luck and they show that they haven’t worked at all. Phil takes action and says that they have to protect Claire. Cam and Gloria find Stella and the little girl who is walking her says that she will sell it to them for $200. Gloria takes Stella away and the girl screams. Gloria and Cam scream back at her. Jay walks with Manny and tells him that the problem is that Manny doesn’t car about the selling. Jay feels bad and decides to buy the wrapping paper.

Claire goes to the committee and they are having a party. Haley and Alex come in with the rest of the signatures. They tell her that they will take it under advisement and Phil says that is Washington Speak for “get lost”. Phil plays a video that he and Luke made and it is cheesy. Claire says that they need a Stop sign and the director says that he can’t give Stop signs to everyone. Cam gets home and sees that the kitchen is still not clean. Cam says that he is going to clean it up and cries a little. Mitchell sees the truth and spills everything around and puts whip crème on Lily’s head and makes a smiley face on Cam’s shirt. The doorbell rings and the woman from the adoption agency is there. Cam admits his mistake. Later, Luke shows that their YouTube video has 78 views already of Phil getting hit in the face with the basket ball. The episode ends.
