Treehouse - Recap

The scene opens with Phil pulling up with a stack of wood and Haley comes out and asks for help with an Essay question. Claire asks what the question is and she tells her that it about her biggest obstacle in life. Haley asks if it was when her teacher told her that she had ADD. Claire says that she couldn’t A-D-D because she couldn’t S-P-E-L-L. She doesn’t get it for a moment and then catches on. Shorty and Darlene are over at Jay and Gloria’s and they brag about all the things they do. Gloria complains that Jay doesn’t like doing anything fun. At a restaurant, Cam and the waitress flirt and he tells Mitchell that she was flirting with him. Mitchell laughs and their friend does too. He says that he can get a girl’s number and bets laundry for a month. Cam messes up his hair as to disguise himself. Mitchell and their friend laugh.

Shorty invites Jay and Gloria to Salsa dancing and Jay tells her no. Darlene invites her by herself. She doesn’t know if she should. Cam goes up to the girl and pretends to be long lost friends. She tells him that ever since the coma, she has a hard time remembering things. Cam feels bad and says that he was just lying. She tells him that she was never in a coma and laughs. Cam hits it off with her and afterward, gets her phone number. Mitchell cant’ believe it. Later, Phil is up in the tree house in process and he says that he is going to help because he will be able to call over to his friends. He walks and steps through a board. Inside, Claire helps Haley with her lack of obstacles. Claire says that she is old enough to know the truth and tells her to go with her.

Mitchell gets home to find Cam on the chair in the living room. He says that he feels bad for leading the girl on like that and says that she is probably waiting by her phone for him to call. He decides to call her and says that she needs to hear something. He takes the conversation to the bedroom. Meanwhile, Gloria is ignoring Jay about the fight that he wants to see and says that she is going out. Manny says that she is going Salsa dancing without him. Jay asks why she is going and says that they like to do fun stuff, but it is clear that it is not fun. He says that she can have a fun time with Shorty and she tells him that she won’t have a problem finding a partner there. Cam gets done talking to Katie and says that he couldn’t tell her on the phone. She says that she is coming over and says that he needs help un-gaying the place. Jay asks Manny to come in and asks him how hard it is to learn Salsa. Manny says that it is about getting into the soul of the dance. He teaches Jay the basic steps and Jay is not that good.

Mitchell comes into Jay’s place to find Manny and Jay dancing. He asks what is going on and Manny says that he has to learn Salsa, but he is tense. Mitchell talks to Jay and gives him a little “something” to make sure that he is going to be happy. He says that he doesn’t like it, but Mitchell tells him to hold on to it. Manny comes back with more video instruction. Meanwhile, Claire takes Haley to a deserted road. She tells her to go up to the tree and read what is written. Claire drives off and says that she now has obstacle. Phil is having issues with getting the tree house up and Luke asks who he is doing this for. Cam meets with Katie and tells her that he is gay. Katie tells him that she knew that already. Mitchell comes home and Cam tells Katie that he is going to be able to gloat. Katie pretends to be angry and tells Mitchell that he better cherish Cam. She kisses him and asks him if he is sure that he is gay and he says no to her. Mitchell gets him to tell the truth again. Cam gloats about the kiss.

Haley gets home from walking all the way home and asks Claire what that was about. She tells her that she overcame an obstacle. At the Salsa bar, Gloria is not having a fun time until Jay comes up and says that he wants to have fun. He says that he is against drugs, but wanted to show Gloria a good time. Mitchell says that the drug that he gave Jay was Baby Aspirin, orange flavor. This makes Jay have fun still and Darlene tells Shorty that he never surprises her. Phil is in the tree house when his neighbor says hello to him. He asks him if he needs any help. He introduces himself and the man introduces himself as Andrea. Phil likes that he made a new friend and says that he is an orthopedic surgeon. The episode ends.
