Modern Family: Bringing Up Baby

Jay's birthday is upon us again and, as before, he makes it well-known that he wishes to keep it as low key as possible, with no grand gestures or surprises. But leave it to the family to miss the mark yet again! Phil takes Jay on a very unconventional fishing trip with his buddies, and Gloria struggles with how to break the pregnancy news to him. Meanwhile, Dylan moves into the Dunphy household temporarily, and Mitch and Cam decide to look into adopting a cat as they continue to cope with their failed attempt to adopt another child.

Recap

The episode begins and it's Jay's 65th birthday, all he wants is a quiet day with no surprises. Gloria hasn't told him yet she is pregnant. Manny won't stop with all of the 'old man' jokes he learned from the internet, seeing Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts, and Phil has a plan to take Jay fishing. In the meantime, Cameron and Mitchell talk about the elephant in the room. Basically they talk about the giant stuffed elephant Pepper got them because they were supposed to have a second child now. They convince themselves that not getting that second child will work out better in the long run. ..

Episode Goofs
When Jay is lead to the dock, his head is covered and his hands are zip-tied. Without the removal of the zip, he accidentally falls into the water. It is evident his hands are NOT zip-tied because of the flailing, but he doesn't pull the cover off his head until the waterboarding joke is complete. At this point, he uses his hands which have been free all along.
