A panicky woman driver goes off the road thanks to a skid block placed by her husband, former police commissioner Harry Ashcombe. Dolly Flint, a psychic who was arrested three times on bunko charges by Captain Stottlemeyer, wakes up in her car next to the site of the staged accident. She believes that she was led to the site by the dead woman's "aura," but Monk is doubtful. Instead, Monk suspects that Ashcombe is the real culprit behind his wife death.

Episode Quotes

Monk: I'm as sure as I can be without any, you know--proof.

Monk: You've got to be a little skeptical, Sharona. Otherwise you end up believing in everything--UFOs, elves, income tax rebates.

Daniel: Adrian, I noticed you touching all the poles. Is that an American thing?
Monk: This is an American tradition. I'm touching all the poles because I'm proud to be an American.

Monk: I'm no good at parties.
Sharona: This isn't a party. It's a memorial service.

Episode Goofs

Monk turns off the tap with a towel to protect himself from germs, but then he dries his hands with the same side of the towel. If he is really afraid of germs, he would not have done that.
