Monk receives a call from a drunken Stottlemeyer, who is in Las Vegas with Disher for a fellow officer's bachelor party. Stottlemeyer suspects that the casino owner has murdered his wife. However, when Monk and Natalie arrive in Vegas the very next day, Stottlemeyer can't remember anything that happened the previous night.

Monk: Good! There you go. Who?
Stottlemeyer: It was a man. (Pause) Or a woman.
Monk: Ah. Man or a woman. That narrows it down. So..so..so it wasn't a child.
Stottlemeyer: Could have been.
