  Episode Summary
While under sedation in the dentist's chair, Disher is certain that he saw the dentist and his assistant murder a man. However, he has trouble getting people to believe him, as they all think that he probably imagined it. He then pays a visit to Monk and asks him to look into it for him. Despite his huge fear of dentists, Monk agrees to investigate Disher's claims and after some digging, he realizes that the dentist might actually be tied to a crime that took place earlier.

  Episode Quotes
Monk: (to Natalie) I don't get cavities. I brush my teeth twelve times a day and I floss every ninety minutes.

Monk: What's that?
Little Boy: It's a drill.
Monk: Don't be afraid.
Little Boy: I'm not afraid.
Monk: Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid.

Stottlemeyer: Monk, cut it out. I mean it. This is a floss-free zone.

Stottlemeyer: I thought you might like to come along.
Randy: Why? You know, I' m not a cop anymore, Leland. Captain. Look. My notebook. No more witness statements. Just lyrics and song ideas now.
Stottlemeyer: You're writing songs?
Randy: I wrote seventeen last night. I'm on fire.
Stottlemeyer: I'm sure you are.

Randy: (singing)
I don't need a gun
To make me feel strong.
I don't need a captain
To shoot me down all day long.
I don't need your mustache,
Don't you condescend to me.
I don't need nobody,
'Cause, baby, I am free.
