Clay, voiced by Scott Adsit
Clay is the strict, but fair father of Orel, merely trying to keep his family in line with the 1950 style of life. When Orel misbehaves, Clay talks to him, after giving him a discipline belting. The lessons he teaches however, usually doesn't have to do with what Orel did wrong. Clay is an alcoholic, who hates both his job and his marriage. Meanwhile, his relationship with Orel's gym coach is extremely close to being a sort of homosexual affair. Clay also seems to have a bizarrely small interest in his children. In several cases, he has forgotten how old Orel is, and has provided alcohol to Orel's friends. He has a collection of guns in his study, including a sniper rifle. He was quick to notice that there was something different about Shapey, his younger son, even though he can't even remember Orel's age. On the other hand, in other cases he has favored Orel to Shapey. |
