Bizarre but lovable showRating: 4 likes, 1 dislikes
Mork and Mindy is one of those bizarre shows that if you watch it now twenty something years you ask yourself "how the hell did this get made?"

Alien comedy shows are nothing new it's been done with shows like "My favorite Martian" and Rod Serling's "The Twilight Zone" often presented an alternative funny look at alien lifeforms.

Mork and Mindy then was like the more modern version of what a non threatning would be like living with an American woman.

The results were a mix bag. Robin Williams is of course a legend but his performance on this was great to sometimes insane.

Williams was a noted cocaine user just like other comedic greats like Richard Pryor and an alcoholic and like his friend Andy Kaufman.

Somehow though Williams pulled it together for four seasons on this show although again watching these episodes again (on KDOC) you do that Williams might be "on" something to carry his over the top performances.

Recently there was a TV Movie called the "Unauthorized Story of Mork and Mindy" which it did take certain liberties in my opinion presented pretty much what everyone suspected of Williams and the show.

The show itself was only highly rated the first seasons then the ratings plummetted and never recovered as mentioned when you watch this episodes it's not hard seeing why.

Some episodes are great, hitting close to the heart and delivering powerful dramatic performances by Williams and Pam Dawber (like the episodes where Mindy dreams of possibly being a mother and the episode ends with Mork telling her that she''ll make a wonderful mother someday).

Other episodes are just plain nuts and while they probably were a riot in the 80's watching them now, you'd just laugh at how some of these episodes made it on the air.

Still though as part of what makes a cult tv show "Mork and Mindy" definitely belongs there.

one of the best classic sitcom from the 70sRating: 1 likes, 0 dislikes
This show is so fantastic and entertaining and it introduced the very famous actor Robin Williams, this is where he bloomed. I love Robin’s character as Mork because of being hyperactive all the time and the chemistry between him and Pam Dauber is very great! There are lots of gags in this show whenever Pam (Mindy) tried not to laugh too much on every scenes because we all know Robin (Mork) is one of the great comedy actor in the world of entertainment! I miss this show that’s why I grabbed a DVD copy at I saw it being sold at http://www.memorylanedvd.com/product.php?productid=36875&cat=0&page=1 . I was happy when I bought the DVD set from this company because I got good quality DVDs. If you want a good laugh, this classic sitcom would definitely be a good choice!
