Mystery! is a weekly anthology series that focuses on bringing to life some of the most well known psychological thriller/mystery novels of our time. From adaptations of Agatha Christie's Poirot series to Arthur Conan Doyle's most beloved sleuth - Sherlock Holmes, Mystery! is one of the best series that PBS has ever offered.
Initially, Mystery! aired on Tuesday evenings, then switched to Thursdays in January of 1983 - midway through Season 3. Mystery! would remain a Thursday night staple in America for 19 years until PBS revamped the program as a summer replacement series for Masterpiece Theatre in 2002. That season, Season 22, would be the only Monday night experience, as the following year PBS moved Mystery! to Sunday nights, where it would remain for the final 5 seasons of it's historic run.
Beginning in June of 2008, Mystery! was merged with Masterpiece Theatre into one show and called simply Masterpiece. From that point on, episodes of Mystery! are given the new designation of Masterpiece Mystery!, and are part of the Masterpiece listing.
The 27th season concludes with “The Inspector Lynley Mysteries: In the Blink of an Eye,” which finds Lynley and Havers linking the murder of a paparazzo in London's Soho district to a 1995 Bosnian massacre. To help with the psychological aspects of the case, Lynley turns to his ex-wife, Helen, for help.
