  Season 3
 Season Three Opening Sequence

(Accompanied by complete silence, two CGI lightbulbs sit side-by-side in the middle of a darkened screen. They slide to the left and right to reveal the following text)
TURN DOWN YOUR LIGHTS
(Where applicable)

(Theme song plays over a right-panning outside shot of Gizmonic Institute, built in and around a volcano)
In the not-too-distant future,
Next Sunday, A.D.

(Joel is wearing a hard hat and writing on a paper on a clipboard)
There was a guy named Joel…
(Joel turns to look toward the camera, adjusts his hard hat and smiles)
Not too different from you or me.
(Outside shot of Gizmonic Institute again, zooming in on the "G" logo building
He worked at Gizmonic Institute,
(Joel is pushing a couple of large metal barrels on a dolly and gives the camera a big thumb’s up)
Just another face in a red jump suit.
(Joel is vacuuming the place, using an accordion with a hose attached.)
He did a good job cleaning up the place,
(Dr. Forrester and Frank scowl and shake their heads in disapproval)
But his bosses didn’t like him,
(Dr. Forrester pulls a lever and a dog bone-shaped rocket blasts off from inside a Gizmonic building)
so they shot him into space!
(Frank sings the theme song and holds up video tapes)
“We’ll send him cheesy movies.”
(Dr. Forrester pops up in front of Frank, also singing along)
“The worst we can find. La, la, la!”
(In the theater, Joel and the ‘bots watch as The Crawling Eye comes charging on the movie screen)
“He’ll have to sit and watch them all,”(Joel and the ‘bots are seen from the side laughing at a movie. Crow turns to look at the camera)
“And we’ll monitor his mind. La, la, la!”
(Joel and the ‘bots are outside the theater, when movie sign comes)
Now keep in mind Joel can’t control when the movies begin or end,
(Joel is using a power tool on Gypsy's coil while Tom, Crow and Gypsy watch)
Because he used those special parts to make his robot friends.
(Panning rapidly)
(Joel holds up the words "ROBOT ROLL CALL")
“Robot roll call:” (spoken) Come on, let’s go.
(Shot of Joel holding a mirror so that Cambot is reflected in it with his name in reverse as well)
Cambot! (spoken) Pan left.
(Shot of Gypsy eating her name)
Gypsy! (spoken) Hi girl!
(Shot of Tom)
Tom Servo! (spoken) What a cool guy!
(Shot of Crow)
Crooow! (spoken) You little wisecracker!
(Shot of the exterior of the Satellite of Love traveling through space)
If you’re wondering how he eats and breathes,
(The Satellite of Love leaves to the right and The Mads pop up in space, singing)
“La, la, la!”
(Joel and the ‘bots see a visitor on the hexifield viewscreen then cut to Dr. Forrester and Frank with personal military tanks then cut to Joel playing the drums in a metal rigging then cut to Joel and the 'bots shooting flowers from a bazooka at the camera)
Just repeat to yourself, “It’s just a show. I should really just relax!”
(Shot of a moon turning to reveal the Mystery Science Theater 3000 logo)
For Mystery Science Theater 3000.
