Series creator/producer Peter Rees originally pitched the show to all the Australian TV networks but all of them turned him down. Rees then pitched the show to the Discovery Channel which picked it up.

Adam and Jamie recently got cameo rolls in an episode of CSI *8x15 theory of everything*
Although all they did was stand behind glass with clipboards and watch and experiment CSI Nick Stokes was preforming it's clearly them

Also recently some of the Mythbusters took part in a Young Scientist special on another channel
It was sort of a build off and while they were there it was not an official Mythbusters episode
