Spider and the Fly - Recap

The scene opens with Reynosa entering a store and she finds Mr. Jackson Gibbs. He draws his shotgun and she tells him that he is just like his son. He corrects her and tells her that his son is just like him. She exits the store and tells her men to open fire. After the destruction of the store, they enter and find that Jackson is not inside and that he escaped. The police sirens can be heard and she says that they need to get out. Later, Agent Gibbs meets with Jackson and he brings Gibbs breakfast. Gibbs tells Jackson that he needs to go to a safe house and Jackson tells him that he wants to go to store. Gibbs says that Agents are going to go with him. Gibbs goes to the station and Agent Dinozzo is watching a gunfight involving Rivera. He says that Rivera gave the order to shoot and Gibbs tells him to let it go. Dinozzo asks if Vance is still mad at him and Vance walks in the room and says that he is. Vance says that Deynosa could be anywhere but says that there was a helicopter that landed in a unsecured location and for Gibbs and Dinozzo to check it out.

Dinozzo and Gibbs arrive at the helicopter and find bodies of John McMann, a pilot and decorated solider, and also that of Estavan. Gibbs looks at the cockpit and plays a video that shows that Reynosa was on the helicopter. Ducky is examining the bodies there and Gibbs asks when they were killed. He tells him that it was 9 hours ago. Back at the office, Dinozzo says that West Virginia, where the helicopter went down, has a lot of ground to cover. Dinozzo sees that McGee is on the satellite phone and asks how Canada is treating him. He says that it is cold and that he wants to go home. He says that Rivera has no movement up there and that he is tired of the place. Meanwhile, Ducky and his assistant Palmer are examining Estavan’s body and Ducky wants to find out where they have been in their travels before Reynosa shot and killed him. Ziva enters the station and Dinozzo tells that she got some sun on her vacation, but she informs that she was working still. Gibbs goes back home to his dad and gives some firewood. Jackson offers to help and Gibbs tells him that he just needs to relax and allow them to think it through. Gibbs hears a noise and draws his gun. As the intruder enters, Gibbs lowers his gun. It is Mike Franks.

They talk about what happened after the gunfight and Franks tells him that he killed most of Reynosa’s men before getting his finger shot off. He says that they destroyed his land and took everything he owned. He says that he is ready to take his revenge and that Reynosa is ready to take her revenge on Gibbs as well. At the station, Gibbs meets with Abby and she tells him that she found everything on the bodies and has grafted a trail of where Reynosa has been and where she is headed. Gibbs shares this with his team and says that Reynosa is trying to show that her Drug Cartel has spread and that she is organizing everything together. McGee comes in and greets everyone and Dinozzo and Ziva tell jokes about his stay in Canada. Gibbs sees McGee and says welcome back. Gibbs walks into Vance’s office and Vance tells him that he would rather see Gibb’s father in a safe house rather than at his house. Gibbs tells him that his father is safe and Vance tells that he knows that Mike Franks is there. Gibbs says that he has things under control. McGee and Dinozzo investigate a murder that witnesses say that Reynosa was part of and find Charles Newberg, a petty criminal, laying face down in meat. Dinozzo says that Reynosa is playing games. Meanwhile, Franks is with Jackson in the basement and he tells him that they need to take Reynosa down and stop hiding. Gibbs enters and says his dad not to listen to him. Jackson tells that Franks is right and they need to be able to protect themselves. Dinozza gets a call and says that Vance has a visitor. It is Rivera.

Rivera sits down with Vance and tells him that he wants to make a deal for his sister and he wants to take her back to Mexico to face the Mexican government for her crimes. Vance doesn’t like the idea and tells him that he is unable to make any deals like that but they will see what they can do. Rivera plants a bug underneath the chair. Rivera walks out and Gibbs sees that Rivera has a little smile on his face. Rivera tells him that they need to be careful in the office and gives a hidden threat. Gibbs asks if that is a threat and Rivera lies. Vance tells him that they better get Rivera out of there before he gets hurt. When Rivera asks by whom, Vance says that he will hurt Rivera. As Rivera leaves, Abby walks in and Rivera asks about the paperwork she owes him. She says that she is still working on it. In the parking lot, Gibbs tells Abby not to worry about it and that everything is fine. They find Day of the Dead Dolls on their vehicles, a Reynosa trademark. Gibbs gets a call from Reynosa and she says that his suffering is not over. He calls McGee and asks him to trace his last call. McGee says that it is coming from across the street of Gibb’s home.

Gibbs rushes home and enters the home. The door is open and he enters. Suddenly his dad appears with Franks and they say that they were in the basement. Ziva says that one agent is dead and the other wounded. Gibbs finds a Day of the Dead Doll on the mantel. Vance and Gibbs find Rivera in front of a restaurant and tell that one of the agents is dead because of his sister. He says that he was willing to make a deal with them and that it is still wanted. Gibbs threatens Rivera and he pulls out his phone and talks to the Ambassador. Vance says that they can’t do anything about it now and to leave it alone. Rivera smiles smugly and they leave. After they have gone, Rivera walks over to a car and gets into the passenger seat. Reynosa is the driver. She tells Rivera that it is time to revenge their father’s death. Meanwhile, Gibbs says that he wants to go after Reynosa, but he can’t do it alone. He says that he is in on it and says, “Let’s go fishing!”

Ducky and Abby talk about Gibbs and he says that he doesn’t know what is going to happen to him. Ducky tells that the hour is upon them. Vance meets with Rivera again says that he is going to make a deal with him regardless of what he wants out of it. Rivera is happy. Dinozzo enters and hands Vance a note. Vance says that things have changed and that he needs a moment to think of things now. Vance leaves and Rivera sees this as an opportunity to look at the note. It says, “Reynosa has been killed”. Rivera leaves and arrives at the safe house where Gibbs and Jackson are staying at. He takes a machine gun and opens fire. Suddenly Dinozzo and Vance arrive and arrest Rivera. Gibbs walks up to him and Rivera is surprised. He says that he should have been inside. Rivera tells that he killed someone inside there but whom. They walk inside and see that Reynosa is there dying. Rivera shot his own sister by mistake. She quotes a Tennessee Williams poem and dies. Later Gibbs is helping Jackson repair the family shop and says that he has to do things for family. Meanwhile, Van archives the files and as he leaves, he gets a text from someone saying “I found him” Vance closes his phone and the episode ends.
