He is relieved to hear his grub made the flight. The president asks a female Secret Service agent, Kate Todd, where Major Kerry is, since he is supposed to be in charge of "the football." Agent Todd informs the president that Maj. Kerry got the flu and now Navy Commander Ray Trapp is in charge of the nuclear codes. After an introduction, the president invites Trapp to lunch...

Episode Notes
The show's episode title comes from the term of the same name for the security clearance needed to work aboard Air Force One and/or at the White House.

Lawrence Pressman, who plays the Secret Service Director, also appears in 'Driven' (Season 4, Episode 11) as Dr. Russell Pike.

The mysterious redhead is played by Vivienne Bellisario, Donald P. Bellisario's wife.

Gibbs' Rules:
Rule #1: Never let suspects stay together.
Rule #2: Always wear gloves at a crime scene.
Rule #3: Don’t believe what you’re told. Double check.

Episode Quotes
(After learning Commander Ray Trapp might have died from a stroke.)
Agent Anthony DiNozzo: He's a little young for a brain fart.

(After Tony explains how to take measurements at a crime scene. He uses a fashion model as an example.)
Dr. Donald Mallard: Isn't 36-D a bit of wishful thinking?
Agent Tony DiNozzo: You think?

(Kate tells Gibbs it's hard to meet people.)
Agent Kate Todd: You know when you're on the job 24/7, how else do you get to know someone?
Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Church.

Episode Goofs
In this episode, FBI Agent Fornell does not recognize NCIS Special Agent Gibbs, who pretends to be a part of Ducky's medical examination team. However, it is later revealed that Agent Fornell married Gibbs' second wife. It is also mentioned that Gibbs had warned Fornell about his ex-wife and that Fornell thought Gibbs was exaggerating. Since Gibbs never gets married again during the course of the first six seasons, Fornell would have to have known Gibbs prior to this case.

Secret Service Agent William Baer calls Agent Fornell 'Tom,' at the president's speaking event. In the rest of the episodes, he is addressed 'Tobias.'

Continuity: Kate's coat is unbuttoned, then it is buttoned. While Kate is watching Gibbs walk away, Leonard, a reporter, approaches her. She is shown with her coat open. Then, Kate turns, and her coat is buttoned.

Cultural References
Popular Culture:
Air Force One: The movie starring Harrison Ford is mentioned several times during the NCIS investigation, with several quotes by Gibbs:
1. "Come on, I saw this in a Harrison Ford movie."
2. "No, this is in the movie. Yeah! Harrison was sitting right here."
3. "This was where the terrorists got their weapons in the movie."
4. "In the Harrison Ford movie, the terrorists were reporters."
