NCIS

NCIS

NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is a police procedure styled action-drama, primarily based in and around the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, which features a colorful team of agents whose job is to investigate crimes connected to members of the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps.

Leading this team of agents is Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), a former Gunnery Sergeant of the U.S. Marine Corps with a series of self-imposed “rules” and a fondness for redheads. He is a highly-skilled investigator with gut instincts that never let him down. Working under Gibbs is very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), a former Baltimore homicide detective, a lover of women and a movie buff, who successfully and skillfully gets the jobs done. Joining these two, are Agent Kate Todd (Sasha Alexander), a beautiful, tough and former Secret Service Agent who has gone head-to-head with Gibbs in the past. For disheartening reasons, her NCIS reign ends in Season 2, where she is then replaced by Liaison Officer Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), an exotic Mossad Agent who is still adjusting to America and it’s famous idioms. In Season 2, adorable and geeky MIT graduate and computer wiz Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) also becomes an official member of Gibbs’ team.

The team wouldn’t be complete without a resident forensic specialist, and that’s where bighearted goth Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) comes into play. Her gifted technology and science skills are a huge asset in solving cases, not to mention to her go-to Caf-Pow beverage. Also assisting the well-trained team is exemplary Medical Examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum). His observation, autopsy and forensic psychology talents speak volumes, just like his astounding conversations with the bodies on his table. Working alongside Ducky is Assistant Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), whose dimples, not so well delivered humor and intimidation of Gibbs make autopsy a little less stressful. The head of NCIS is Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll), who replaced former NCIS Director Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly), a resilient woman with a complicated Gibbs history. Vance is a mysterious man who keeps to himself and has many secrets that have yet to be fully divulged.

Whether it’s crime or family-related, these Special Agents unite as one to solve matters of the heart, mind and those with Navy ties.

Good stories with lame tech factsRating: 2 likes, 1 dislikes

Being spun off JAG I expected NCIS to be a bit better, though the stories get better with time to the point of being quite interesting. Although i seriously doubt that anyone on the show's crew knows anyone about computers, it is still quite watchable... Read more
