In the Ochoco Federal Prison, a Muslim group surrounded a young black man named Mo who was working in the prison kitchen and began to beat him in, an initiation ritual meant to welcome him into the gang. Falling to the floor under their blows, the young man curled into the fetal position, used his arms and legs to block the blows as best he could, taking punches in the face as well. Suddenly, the leader, Abdul Mombasa, motioned for the beaters to cease and told the young man that he was welcome to his new family and that he would be well taken care of financially as well, not wanting for anything ever again. They held the man up from the floor and gave him hugs and reassurances...
