An examination of the gatekeeper role played by the epigenome, which can shape everything from whether people develop diseases to whether they are fat or slim by turning on and off specific genes. Also: how a person's habits---good and bad---may affect future generations.

Finally watched my tape of this episode. I had almost forgotten how interesting NOVA can be.

Long story short: it's surprising how much something in your present can affect the future generations. The example in the show was grandchildren were affected by their grandparents famine experience.

Even if he goes crazy, I will still call Chris "Superman"

This is why I'm not breeding. No point in making my grandchildren suffer, 'cause I plan on continuing all my bad habits.

I'm not breeding either, but for a different reason. Besides, screw the grandkid, he can handle my epigenome self-destruction.
