Sipowicz is concerned over Sorenson's drinking and it sours the relationship between them. An old friend of Medavoy's asks for his help but Medavoy has to turn him down, with dire consequences. A young man and his girlfriend come into the station to report the death of his parents. Their story is the same, until Jones gets the girlfriend on her own.
