Naruto was unable to stop the thief, who flew using his chakra by using a technique called Mysterious Peacock. Only those who have trained near the star are able to use this technique.
The Star Village’s leader, Akahoshi, is reluctant to accept help from outsiders. He sends the Konoha ninja to a wild goose chase so he and his subordinates can locate the star themselves. However, the Konoha group can't be fooled that easily. Meanwhile, it is revealed that Sumaru was kidnapped by none other than Akahoshi, the village's leader. His reason for doing this is to lure out the culprit who stole the star.
